  • Watch your account when putting a unit on hold!

I placed a unit on hold last night online. I was talking to a VG and he confirmed my unit. I did not want it confirmed because that would have canceled my old search. Lucky I got a supervisor to back date my original search. It turns out as you may know the VG gets a small comision for confirming it. Always check your account after speaking to a VG just to be sure that everything is in order.

Sounds just like RCI. It drives me crazy when I have an on-going search but don't want what they want to give me and they keep calling and calling and calling. I finally just cancel most of my searches.

Give them a fake phone number.

        Boy do I hear ya!

Typically, I call them on my cell phone and stay online to watch the transactions, especially when I have a visible deposit and tell them to use my generic. I start a search with the visible, so they can't snatch it, while confirming an exchange. I have had this happen in the past and LOST my searchable. Peaced me off...

A VC did the exact same thing to me last week. I was really angry about it because I'd only told her 3 times that I did not want it confirmed before I hung up. As soon as I got off the phone, I checked my account and what do you know, my credit card had been charged and the unit was confirmed!

When I rang back, I got another VC who agreed that the unit had been confirmed and put me through to the original VC. Well, that one proceeded to blatantly lie to me about it not being confirmed, that it was actually on hold in the Family & Friends section of their inventory and a whole bunch of rubbish. I was most angry about being so blatantly lied to and requested to speak to a supervisor. She put me on hold for the longest time and told the supervisor that she accidentally confirmed it. Really?! Not what she told me.

I put through a complaint with the supervisor who assured me that they do not get a commission. Yeah right!

I was just about to give RCI another chance too and keep my membership beyond it's expiry next year but not now. They simply cannot be trusted!

It's not just putting a unit on hols taht one needs to watch. RCI guides are very good at depositing units when they are directly told not to.

                Yeah, I know!

But I had to because they cancelled my old RCI account, which I told them not to, and opened a new one when we bought Worldmark. They told me that I could get cheaper exchange fees on my regular spacebanks as well as my Worldmark spacebanks with the new account. So I had to ring up to confirm to get the lower exchange fee. Well, it turns out when I rang that I had previously been given the incorrect info, as regular spacebanks get charged the higher exchange fee even in a Worldmark account. So basically I rang for nothing and could have confirmed the week online if I wanted to afterall. Their service is sooo bad. It's rare that you can trust anything they tell you.
