  • "Please, just call me Mary...."

Talk about a line of cwap! I just got an email from the new President at RCI who is announcing a whole new version of EV magazine and a year full of rewarding vacation planning with RCI....ugh, gag me with a spoon. Who buys this line of BS...oh, I know, the folks who try to sell it!

I was holding on to 6-7 years of those Mags including II's version. Well I started parting with some just yesterday. I have no idea why I ever saved them.

Would you believe I just got the same email right when I finished posting.

LOL...we too have all the EVs we got since RCI membership began....I think I held onto them in case our heat ever went out, as I think they will make an excellent fire!

We also have all, and I mean all the wish books....it is really interesting to go back in time and see how RCI evolved from an exchange company to a place that sucks up your weeks into their private profit making machine.

Yeah, I loved that Mary line. I was thinking about calling her and saying, "Mary, I'm very concerned about your customer service over there...."

Of course you should keep the mags/rags

Isn't the magazine subscription supposed to be what you are paying for at the reasonable price of an annual year of membership?

If you let a year or two go by without exchanging, that makes for an expensive magazine.

Actually...if you exchange it adds up to an even more expensive magazine.

We got a call from them today but it was canned my DH told me so he didn't listen. RCI only wants one thing and that is your timeshare week so they can rent it, most likely.

My Mags go out in the recycle bin the day I receive them. However I have LOTS of well fingered wish books. Damn shame that wishes is all that they will ever be.

Actually, two things: your week and money! I think the increase in exchange fee is outrageous.

                      Just Mary

So where is the link to email direct to "Just Mary"?

Since she came over from Fairfield maybe she can work on FF members using online search with their "generic" deposits using the same methods as the VC on the other end of the phone line.

It has been "just around the bend" for years.

                        what would RCI say

I wonder what kind of response someone would get if when they call to deposit a week with RCI, they told the counsellor? that they would only deposit the week if they could get a guarantee that the week would go to the trade inventory and not the rental inventory.

KayH, admirable concept, but in reality, they have these little paragraphs, you know, the RCI Terms of Service? When you deposit you give up all rights...end of story, but we always hold hope that there could be an improvement in RCI's handling of its customers, right?....nah.
