  • What is this I have in my RCI account?

I logged into my RCI account today and I noticed that I have what appears to be 2 bonus weeks in it. Not sure how or why I got them, but I am totally clueless as to how to use them. Can anyone help?

I have a "Bonus Vacation Week 1-365 days" and a "One Plus One"

    Aloha, BB,

I think the OPO is for having made a deposit or trade in a "designated" area.

How to use? You have to call a VC and ask them what it will trade for...usually it has limitations of matching power....but it can be useful if you want to try to snag something in the 45 day window. Unfortunately, RCI won't let you use it the same way II does with an AC.
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

Well the 45 day window is not exactly what they let you have with these...I wish it was. I have tried several times to do that and they would not allow it outside of the low demand areas that they usually designate in the printed bonus certs.

I also have them in my account. I think from deposits I have made. I have others I have 'won' at breakfast orientation rallies.

Please let us know what you are able to do with them. Being in HI would be interesting because of the last minute availability there though I have not seen much of it lately.

        One plus One week info

From the ASK RCI FAQ on TUG.

        A. What are the One-Plus-One weeks that appear in my account?

When you confirm an exchange in an area targeted for the One-Plus-One promotion, an additional vacation week at special rates is deposited into your account automatically. It appears online as a One-Plus-One week; however, it cannot be accessed online. You will need to contact an RCI Guide to confirm these. For every regular exchange confirmed into targeted areas, members may confirm an additional week into any of the same areas for $241.99 domestic (296.99 CD) and $296.99 international (351.99 CD). Availability is in the following regions:
East Coast - Virginia Beach, Virginia to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
North Interior US - Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia
        Pennsylvania
Tennessee & Smoky Mtn Resorts in North Carolina and Georgia
        Canada - Ontario & Quebec
East Coast - Maine to Maryland
Great Lakes Area (Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota)
        Ozarks (Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma)
        Texas - Inland

Southeastern Florida (Vacation Village at Bonaventure #4025 and Vacation Village at Weston #5773 only)
        All International Destinations

The One-Plus-One program is not available online. You will need to contact an RCI Guide for assistance. These weeks are valid for two full years, for travel dates up to two years in advance. However, they are only valid for the areas outlined above. You do not have to confirm the same resort/area with your One-Plus-One week as you confirmed to qualify for it. And you don't have to confirm consecutive weeks. After you confirm a standard exchange in one of the targeted areas, the One-Plus-One week is deposited into your account automatically overnight. You may also confirm the extra week on the same phone call if you want - the RCI Guide can deposit it for you immediately.

        Hope this helps Boca.

          Mike,

That helps a lot. Now I know why I got it. I made an exchange into Vacation Villages at Weston for last week.

I have at least a dozen "bonus weeks" and two "one plus one" weeks. I have never been able to use them for anything I wanted...

Ditto. Somehow, Indiana in the middle of winter doesn't do it for me. Neither does Cape Cod in Feburary.
Yes, looking a gift horse in the mouth here, but I haven't been able to see anything with them that I can use.

Maybe they'd be good for sending a friend to Orlando...

Re the fees listed in the FAQ's for RCI...it might be outdated...I think the charges for the OPO are higher....

yeah they are just fluff. not worth the programming it took to put them in there.

Used to six, now I only have 5, does this mean I spend too much money at RCI?

                        re One Plus Ones:

Luckily they expire, otherwise there'd be no way to get rid of that clutter on your screen.

They were once worth something, but now they are worth less than nothing. They are merely a way to get you to call a VG, so they can upsell you on something else.

If you're looking for a lower cost bonus week, use Extra Vacations or Last Calls.

I just received a Comp Exchange on my RCI account but this one does not say "one plus one". All it says in the description is "Last Call Inventory Call Ctr." We just booked a last call for Virginia in June. I've never had one of these before, even though we've made some other last call reservations. Is this the same as a "one plus one?" Does anyone know if this is only for Last Call exchanges? If so, would it be any different than confirming a Last Call that can be found online? Would the prices be different?

Looking for some expertise here - of course, I guess I could call RCI too
                          Thanks,

I have one of those One Plus Ones and I've found it can pull a couple of low-rated resorts in the Poconos for the first week of November. The cost would be comparable to Last Call. I think they wanted $256 for the week, something like that. The advantage is that I could book it now and know I had it for November. One guide told me that she thought the whole summer is blocked out for those One Plus Ones.
