A new and more annoying RCI Problem

Just got in after two days of trying. When I checked my confirmed exchanges, apparently I'm now not going to the Manhattan Club on November 2nd, I'm going to somewhere called the Kimball Club in the Canary Islands. I haven't phoned in yet, frankly, I'm very angry and even if they straighten it out quickly, I need to calm down so I don't blast whoever I get on the phone, which isn't my style.

I've had that error before, only a few weeks ago in fact. The name is wrong but check the resort ID, it should still correspond to The Manhattan Club.

When it happened to me, I was so disturbed that I rang RCI only to be told that everything was fine in the call centre. When I checked the Resort ID, it was fine. Then the next time I logged on, maybe the next day, it was showing the correct name and resort ID again.

Yes, I know.

Thanks for mentioning this. I am now missing a Manhattan Club confirmation for May, and my Gurney's confirmation is now for someplace in Mexico. Resort ID is still Gurney's, and check out what it says on the actual confirmation:

Thanks, Sidney, you saved some VG getting yelled at. Yes, the resort number is right and all other details are right. I don't really know how RCI screws up so badly so often.

Guess I'll give it a day or two and see whether, A, I can still get into RCI and B, whether they have me going to New York and not the Canary Islands.

I hate what they did with this "upgrade." I have a major loss of exchange power with my blue week for Orlando. I cannot believe the resorts that are MISSING, that were always there with that week. I can't see HGVC anymore with that week! I CAN see OLCC River Island and Vistana Villages. Isn't that weird? I don't get it.

On the other hand, my exchange window has been extended for last-minute trades with that week. So I can see great Hawaii weeks to June 1st when I search six weeks out. That is a good thing.

This is just ludicrous.

Sounds like patching the legacy system is jsut getting uglier and uglier. They need to spend the money to put in a new system and scrap the old one. The IT department CAN'T be this incompetent, so it must be a budget thing.

Cindy, are you sure you aren't seeing them or maybe they just aren't there to be seen.

This has happened to me over the years with RCI. Computer glitch. They always eventually got it right. But I agree never leave anything to chance with RCI. Print out your exchanges too as well as your history.

Now I will have to run into my a/c and see if they messed with our confirmation for Gurney's too.

I have to share this, last night I was able to use the backdoor work-around that was posted OY, and did get into the site, and I took the opportunity to use their internal email to write to them. I referred them to OH and OY threads and told them that their IT team is a laughingstock OH and OY. I asked them when they thought they might get around to fixing the Network Solutions snafu, I told them that there were rumors running wild about their competence and their intent with regard to exchanges...and I asked them why they don't use their great pal Madge to explain what the devil they are doing to the system. I ended the email with something like "well, I feel better having written to you, but I am sure you won't read this email until years from now."

That was at around 11:15 p.m......a short time later, around 12:30 a.m. or so...the site was working normally....I know it was just a coincidence and all, but it sure was funny to me.


Of course, I didn't think to check my confirmation.....and I know, I know, now that I have written them, my account will dry up like a raisin...but that is okay, as we are just waiting for the membership to expire, and until 2010, I will continue to take my chances with them, begrudgingly albeit, but what can I say....in the old days, when the system wasn't raided, we actually enjoyed the RCI exchanging....ah well.


Edited to say, bevy, Glitter, you must be the chosen onesthis time around, our confirmation is intact...at least for now.

Yes I do and so many of us share that trait.

FWIW out of 6 weeks in the spacebank 4 of them are correct and one shows completley different information regarding name, etc. but the correct resort ID.

Trade value seems to be unchanged but I'll have a better idea tomorrow

About what I'm seeing. One out of the four future trades shows the wrong resort id, but everything else is correct. And when I tried to do a search in the RCI Resort Directory, I got a totally different resort using that id. Hmmmm, wonder where we'll really end up.

Also Print Out Your OnLine Confirmation

I have the same problem. However, when I printed out the online Confirmation the correct Resort was listed.

I still have the 2 weeks I used in Hawaii for Jan. 2007 and the one week used in Florida for March 2007 still listed in my account.

I have also had the same confirmed weeks listed 2 times in my account. I wonder if I print out the online confirmations I get 2 units for the same week at that Resort.
