I have also had the same confirmed weeks listed 2 times in my account. I wonder if I print out the online confirmations I get 2 units for the same week at that Resort.

You could give it a try.

I have to share this, last night I was able to use the backdoor work-around that was posted OY, and did get into the site, and I took the opportunity to use their internal email to write to them. I referred them to OH and OY threads and told them that their IT team is a laughingstock OH and OY. I asked them when they thought they might get around to fixing the Network Solutions snafu, I told them that there were rumors running wild about their competence and their intent with regard to exchanges...and I asked them why they don't use their great pal Madge to explain what the devil they are doing to the system. I ended the email with something like "well, I feel better having written to you, but I am sure you won't read this email until years from now."
What a great email. I wonder how far it will go and do let us know if they bother to respond.

But what can I say, you know me, I can only keep my mouth shut so long, and then
So here, as promised, is what the delightfully eloquent team at RCI has responded:

      Hello,

      Thank you for your e-mail.

Since the RCI website was recently changed, you may need to delete the
cache files in your computer, so your computer does not try to connect
to the old website instead. For your convenience, the steps to do this
      are as follows:

      -open your Internet browser

-select Tools and then Internet Options

-in the middle of the page, click on Delete Files

-select OK in the smaller pop-up window, then click OK again when
      finished.

-close the browser, open another browser and then re-enter www.rci.com
directly in the address field rather than using a saved link or
      favorite.

The RCI Weeks site has a bit higher browser requirement than the old
site. Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher or Netscape 6.2.1 works best. For
information about downloading a new browser at no cost, go to
      Microsoft Corporation or Redirect.

If you still have a problem accessing rci.com, please try this link - .: RCI :.

Of course, in my email to them, I told them that I did all that and still got the d--- Network Solutions page....

Just as I expected, RCI robot useless response. Well, now I will go back to
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

They do send lame responses to their emails.

I posted my response from them about the 9K points instant weeks' exchanges and how they were charging full points. They said that when you confirm the amounts changed to 9K points or less. I told them they still said 80,000 points for the week I wanted, even when I went to confirm. I already knew about that glitch. Their system is broken!

<sigh> as if we expected better from them. In all my years I only received ONE truly specific e-mail and I guess I am one of the "lucky" ones.

Of course you know your account has been marked for and you will soon be joining me working with the independents.

I saw an interesting thread on TUG about folks looking for an alternate to RCI for east coast or caribbean exchanges. Hello people???? The resorts may be in the directory but RCI doesn't have your exchanges either.

I agree, Lawren, we are marked, oh well....the fact is having seen the writing on the wall a long time ago, it isn't as painful as a newbie might feel it. RCI's corrupt practices and VG's who mess up will eventually become old news and someone else will gain....like those independents.

We already have done more business with II this past year than RCI....and we have joined DAE, and will pursue SFX at some point. The truth is RCI may be big, but they will shrink, as customers do matter....even if RCI treats their customers like they do, eventually, RCI will get the news that it isn't working.

Again, I had to call II for a quick question yesterday, and I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to talk with a personable and helpful voice at the other end of the phone....that was the old days with RCI, I used to enjoy their guides so much. Now, I avoid all contact with the phone people.

I stand by my email and public statements regarding RCI. The resulting backlash that is probable had already been anticipated. Frankly, just as they consider my business to be insignificant, I feel the very same way about them, they are not the only game in town...it is sort of like watching a Mafia Boss get taken down a peg or two. Sort of hypnotically fascinating and dangerous at the same time.
