  • RCI question

I haven't looked at my RCI account in about a week. Today I went to look at the progress on an ongoing search, and I noticed that I was not getting the usual welcome notice, which always invited me to take out cancellation insurance on an exchange scheduled for August 25, 2007.

I had not been planning to get cancellation insurance on this week, figuring that a late-August week in the Poconos was unlikely to be cancelled and knowing that I plan on using the week.

I went into the account and I see that RCI is saying that I HAVE purchased cancellation insurance. Obviously this is RCI doing something a bit tricky, since I definitely have NOT purchased the insurance.

They're closed today, but I'd appreciate any thoughts on how/what/why before I go in with both guns blazing tomorrow. Could they have charged my credit card without my permission?

Where in your account can you see that you've purchased travel insurance? I'm not getting a welcome message prompting me to purchase it, and I have two confirmed exchanges in August. I actually don't remember getting those messages in any welcome.

Go to My Account, then to Vacation Plans, then look at your Confirmed weeks. Now I realize that the line that says I purchased cancellation insurance is really UNDER the ones where I've bought it! I made a mistake. Sorry, RCI! But it is strange, because the line

You have purchased RCI Cancellation Protection for this Week

Is sitting RIGHT above the Poconos week. But it really goes with the week above. Whoooops!
