I think all of us with anything less than a tiger are seeing the same eight or ten units at Orange Lake West Village.

But...I mean, geez. So the tigers are seeing lots more units in Orlando and Williamsburg. Why? What does RCI gain by setting it up so only the strongest traders see three or four times as many good weeks as the "moderate" traders?

Personally, I want to use my tiger for something a lot better than Orlando or Williamsburg!

Oh you have one of those miracle Diks too.

I mean the deposit. I knew the 2008s were great nice to know the 2009s are pretty sweet too.

Mike, how did you get a 2009 Dik? Did you just prepay maintenance and ask them to bank it?

This of course will get me in trouble...but then again that's my middle name.

The RCI rants to me are extremely annoying and not productive anymore. Why are you still with RCI? Are you dim-witted or a glutten for punishment? It seems all you experts agree that RCI doesn't know shit from Shinola so why are you all so attached? From what I read on these pages, there should be no need to discuss or in anyway be affiliated with RCI. Should be just one icon that you click on that says "dump RCI"

I hope I'm not looked upon as either dim-witted or a masochist.

You are not in trouble. Open and free discusion is what TS4Ms is all about.

I am no longer a member. That doesn't mean others aren't and that they don't ask for our help in utilizing the system or finding things for them. As long as people still need help working in a hobbled environment I will do my best to assist them. That is what I'm here for.

The best way I know of to help people is to remain educated in how it works, what shows up when and with how much exchange power is needed. This does indeed lend itself to my occasional rants, like this one. If they annoy you; DON'T READ THEM.

When independents will work well for someone I certainly recommend them.

I'm a member of RCI because I want to vacation mostly in the Northeast, where I live. RCI has BY FAR the most resorts in this part of the country.

I will be giving II a try in the next couple of years, but RCI has many, many more possibilities here. I don't love RCI, but I have to keep them if I want to trade into most of the resorts near me.

One of my biggest complaints with RCI is just the opposite of yours. Every survey with RCI I have completed in the last year, and I get several, is their emphasis on deposit early/exchange early. I usually blast them for handing out deposits like candy and if they are not gone in a few months they end up in extra vacations as excess inventory at sometimes every low prices.

July is high demand everywhere. They should be saving this inventory for folks who come along later with a comparable week and not just giving them out because they are early.

Maybe there is some hope for those of us that start looking at 4-10 months out when we have set our schedule for the year.

Many of us are stuck with RCI due to internal exchange programs....this has been explained endlessly.

If you are tired of the RCI rants then why read them? And why comment on them?

Yep, as long as I have my "free" Wynfield RCI Weeks account, I'm happy to learn how best to use the system to my advantage.

                              Keep up the good work!

Many of us are stuck with RCI due to internal exchange programs....this has been explained endlessly.

If you are tired of the RCI rants then why read them? And why comment on them?
John, why do these companies make it mandatory to belong to an exchange company? I personally feel that it should be up to the timeshare buyer if he or she wants to belong to an exchange company or not.

I even read somewhere that if you own multiple Hyatt resorts, you pay multiple exchange fees too. This is absolutely ridiculous and certainly if you do not exchange. JMHO. I am glad that the Marriott gives us the choice to belong or not to belong to II and I hope it will stay that way.

I also sometimes wonder if RCI gives the very best exchanges to the Wyndham or WorldMark members and next in line come RCI point members of other resorts and after that what is left over? Just a question here and no accusation.
