A letter from Group RCI CEO Ken May dated September 24, 2007 to resort affiliates bubbles ''I'm proud to announce some enhancements to our Endless Vacation Rental program''.

''I'm excited to let you know about a new alliance that was recently formed between Group RCI and LeisureLink, a leader in the online distribution of vacation rental lodging. Through LeisureLink's distribution network, including the major online travel agent sites such as Expedia, Travelocity, and Orbitz, we will have an immediate increase in our online presence with travelers who are not current timeshare owners.''

Anyone who uses ff miles knows too well the meaning of the word ''enhancements'' in membership organizations connected to a business; the members are about to get hosed.

Well, when members can't get an exchange, it will be interesting to see how much inventory is sitting out there on these sites.

Thank you for posting this information. I will brace myself accordingly for still another RCI "enhancement". The hits just keep on playing with RCI.

One more reason that a good mini-system is almost necessary anymore. If you can't get decent exchanges through the external exchange companies, then you can at least have someplace to go through the mini-system.

I wonder how long before the smaller independant exchange companies start to take a major bite out of RCI's free rental inventory? I now that if I were to exchange the one weeks resort that I own that trades through RCI, it'd be one of the independants that would get it.
