  • European exchanges at RCI

There have been a number of threads on declining European avaibility at RCI, and some speculation that availibility is different for American and European members. I think that is probably true based on information from two different sources.

One is a new RCI employee on another board who, like Bootleg of old, is not at all hostile to his company but is willing to tell all he knows, good, bad, or indifferent. In replying to a old post of mine on this subject, he says that there is a different code for every country of member residence as to exchange preferences in the RCI system.

Second, I had one of those RCI takebacks, and in working with a highly placed specialist in finding a replacement, had it confirmed that different inventory is availible to different members. When I asked about the possiblity of another week at a desired resort coming up, he told me that there were not many deposits at that resort availible to North American members. I then asked if there were other deposits availible to members living elsewhere, and he replied that there were.

It looks like the problem US based RCI members are facing is that it appears the preference code for the US must have been downgraded as to European inventory.

    Steve,

Thank much for confiming what I have suspected for quite some time. Not that it helps us here in the US but nice to know I'm not completely crazy.

So have you worked on getting your account switched to a euro based one?

and can you invite that RCI poster here?

And would you mind if I used your European address for my RCI account now?
