Based on what I've been told is that inventory on dual weeks/points resorts is held separately. While there might be a specific date available on the Weeks side, I can't see it on the Points "standard reservation" side because it is not part of the points inventory. I also won't be able to see it using points to search weeks because RCI has a wall in the search feature while in my points account. The only way I'll be able to see it is in a weeks account.
Hope my explanation makes sense

I am surprised that there aren't more for the low to medium traders over the hot and humid summer. We were there the end of July one year and it was terrible.Gary

Are you saying that none of the bajillion OLCC owners who have been/are RCI Weeks members no longer are, and no longer deposit their weeks to RCI Weeks?
Or, are you saying that all that still exists, in fact is still the overwhelming predominant situation with OLCC owners, and that you just have RCI Points as an option, if you have converted to Global Whatever.
Originally posted by gjw007OLCC is actually RCI Points now rather than RCI Weeks since the Global Access points convert into RCI Points at a 2:1 ratio. I have called RCI and have had the ability to directly book through RCI my Global Access points as RCI Points for RCI resorts. Of course, most deposits to RCI from OLCC are weeks as probably more than 90% of OLCC have remained weeks rather than convert to Global Access. I was told by a the RCI Points account with RCI. You know sales people, whether this is true or not is uncertain.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

How did OLCC hi-jack my thread? and Jim had nothing to do with it?Lawren

This isn't much different than other resorts that have converted to RCI Points. My week at Vacation Village is RCI Points and is deposited into RCI Points but there are weeks at the resort that are week units and are deposited in weeks. When I owned at Alhambra Villas, my unit would be deposited into my weeks account whereas those who upgraded to points were put in the points account. The same I believe is true at Summer Bay.Gary

Do you think that the change in the availability to see various resorts is due to the change in the ratings system done by RCI or could there be another factor?Gary

I see nothing of 'quality' with a Smugglers' white week (and whites and blues were used to pull Orlando/OLCC/Sheraton in the past) for the same time period, 11 results in all.
HOWEVER, there is a lot of availability for those 2 resorts in LAST CALL if you want to pay up to $1000 a week.
What does this tell you?

Gary very true.It is just my odd sense of humor acting up.
I've been trying to puzzle this out. Orlando is a good example to use but I could have used Williamsburg or Branson.
What I am seeing is a much stricter availability particularly for larger units within RCI. Even on large spacebanks at various resorts, weaker traders will only see Friday check-ins or one bedrooms. This has always been the case but it seems much more prevalent now.
The main point I am making is that when one requires a monster trader to see acceptable accomodations somewhere like Orlando that we must adjust our thought process. Many are under the misconception that places like these are a gimme if you search far enough out and that just isn't true anymore during school vacation periods.Lawren

Hadn't had a chance to look yesterday but when I checked today with a 2BR red FF/Wyndham which usually trades pretty good I only see the 10 resorts.
I have been really fed up with the way the FF/Wyndham deposits have been trading (crappy) and I had an off and on dialogue with Customer Relations about it and they finally gave me 70,000 Customer Satisfaction points to appease my frustrations but would not admit that trading has gotten worse.
I did however, just return from a week in a HGVC 3br that I got with a FF/Wyndham 2BR but this was pretty uncrowded season in Orlando!ken H.,Ballston Lake, NY

I think that this is the staging that is leading up to the Exchange PluS DOLLARs to upgrade from a smaller to larger unit.
RCI has had that icon show up in weeks from time to time....so essentially it is a way to force weeks ownership into a points based trade. This is another cash cow idea from the folks who made it famous.Life is short, live it with this awareness.
