  • RCISpeak Interpreter Needed

I'm normally good with RCISpeak, having interpreted it for so long, but I'm not sure about this one. The following is what I asked, and what they answered. Any idea what it means if they would have said it using words they intended for someone to understand?

    Me:

Our RCI account number is so because we first owned at a CFI (Westgate) resort. We have not owned there for several years.

Does the fact that our account number is for a Westgate resort, and a resort
that RCI no longer recognizes, rather than the resort where we now own,
affect our RCI benefits in any way?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Thank you for your e-mail. When you search for Extra Vacations online,
our website references the first four digits of your RCI ID number for
VEP comparison. It does not affect your RCI benefits in any other way.

We hope this information is helpful.

I had the same question years back, The first resort I owned was the Sea mist and I was currious if that effected my account trading power. Basicly you can see it does not because if you use different weeks they pull in different things,

yes, but RCI is saying that the account number affects the Extra Vacations that come up, based on VEP. I remember Madge saying something similar a few years back.

Well then if you no longer own there then what? Oh is that what Jim was asking?

Whether you own there any longer or not your account is still held to the first 4 numbers or the resort ID that you were initially set up with.

It does indeed have an effect on Extra Vacations and Last Calls. We ran a test years ago, which I lost with my computer meltdown.

The interesting thing is, Jim's account is still supposedly set for a resort that RCI no longer recognizes. So what VEP are they giving his account?

I thought that that was a very succinct answer for RCI and I understood it completely.

                That's the real question.

Okay, so does anybody have a low-VEP account? Because I would like to see what Extra Vacations they see that I'm not seeing, because my first resort is medium-to-high VEP.

Next question. When my RCI account runs out, if I let it lapse completely, then start a whole NEW account and give my lower-VEP ts as my primary ts, then I'll see MORE offers in Extra Vacations, right?

                      Wastegate is still RCI

RCI still recognizes Wastegate Vacation Villas. Once a resort has members in RCI or II they can never be dropped entirely although deposits may shrink to virtually nothing. Dropping affiliation does not end the relationship especially for owners. We always use our WVV with RCI - never II as they are flooded in inventory and it doesn't have much value - if we trade.

Going on what Jim supplied us in the initial post the resort was no longer recognized.

I had no idea it was Westgate VV <although I could have easily made an accurate guess>. That resort came up in my summer 08 search today so there are still trades and a way of determing VEP.

I'd like to know what you see in Massachusetts and Virginia, please. In summer 2008 and summer 2009? (I don't think there will be much in either place.) Thank you for looking!

I'm just curious b/c I know there are some low-VEP resorts in those two places that I just never see. I'm looking especially to see if Skyline Ranch Resort in Virginia turns up for you. I've never seen it in exchanges or on Extra Vacations, so I'm suspecting the VEP must be too low. Does anyone ever see this place?

wackymother, I checked extra vacations for Skyline ranch and nothing shows. My account opening resort was a pretty low vep so if it was there I should have seen it. Can only check 1 year out with extra vacations.
