Originally posted by SpenceI disagree, this, from reading what Frank posted, is a ploy in addition to 1in4 to get you to think owning there is a benefit. Yes, RCI gets some measly GC fees but it's the perception of the unknowing member - (s)he doesn't know where the money goes, it's just more money.Originally posted by lawren2What it means:
A lot of these things are RCI only and resort specific. This one has the 1-in-4, a rule saying you can't have more than 4 consecutive or concurrent weeks. If you have more than 2 you need a GC. It has an area block. So if you own in Maz you can't trade in unless you are doing an internal exchange from the other PB. THEN you can only have 2 consecutive or concurrent weeks and still require a GC after 2 and can't get more than a studio on bonus time.
What it REALLY means is this resort must have had serious problems with people picking up tons of weeks cheap on bulkbanks and living there and that they are probably in an agressive sales mode. They will use all of the above warnings to empathize how hard it is to trade there and that you need to buy it.... not enough time for all the timeshares ®

Frank,
PBEB is a great place. We were there in Nov '06 and loved it. The pool complex is fantastic. They provide a shuttle to their sister resort that is located right in Maz and from there you can either catch a local bus real cheap to take a pulmonia to get to the golden zone if you want or to old town. The bus runs every hour but make sure you catch the last one back to EB or it's a pretty expensive taxi ride.
Anyway as someone else said it will be pretty humid so bring a lot of shorts and some wicking shirts, but in my opinion the resort is one of the niciest I have been to.
Oh yeah, on units if you have a choice take one on the lower level or if on upper level see if you can get on higher floors (some on the upper level on lower floors don't have as nice an ocean view because they are kind of behind the lower level buildings.
Your group will love the resort tho.

Frank,
I have been to Pueblo Bonito Resort, Mazatlán and I took a tour of Pueblo Bonito Resort at Emerald Bay.
Depending on what four looking for
Pueblo Bonito Resort, Mazatlán has smaller rooms and is the older one of the two. It is in walking distant to the crowded golden zone all the restraints & stores in town.
Bonito Resort at Emerald Bay is the newer resort it has large rooms and is a nicer resort. I am pretty shore all of the units to date are ocean view.. Everything is very nicely apportioned and new.
The down side is it’s further from town. Located about 15 minutes' drive north of the crowded Golden Zone, Pueblo Bonito has a free shuttle that goes to back and forth to the Pueblo Bonitos.
When I go back I am staying at Bonito Resort at Emerald Bay and smoking a .
It’s the nicest resort in MazatlánWhat I once considered boring, I now consider paradise.

Frank,
I would hold out for the PBEB, it is a really fantastic place. I thought that I had heard someone talking when we were there about a partial AI they were thinking of providing but I looked on line and their web site doesn't say anything about it so either it never happened or I was floating in the pool dreaming when I heard it!!.
I know you don't like the TS presentations much but we went on one at EB itself and one at another property on a marina that they have something to do with developing and got about $350 credit towards food credits in their restaurants and bars. They were actually two of the lowest key presentations we have ever been on, only took about the time they said they would and no high pressure. The credits were also good at the restaurants in the Maz location, one of which is a kind of high end Italian place.
Anyway except for the AI part I know that your group would love the EB and the shuttle they run makes being out a bit further not a big thing.ken H.,Ballston Lake, NY
