So when (if) I sell my timeshare I can still remain a member of RCI? Might be worth thinking about for the Last Call deals. It's the exchange fee that puts me off staying with RCI - it's more than the annual maintenance!!!

And of course us poor souls in the UK pay just about twice the fee that you do in the US

      Worth the thought

I own a 5 year lease in Hawaii that expires next year. Good bye to maintenance fees. But I plan to stay a member of RCI just to take advantage of the Last Call deals and of the Extra exchanges. Think of it as the luxary of owning with out the cost.

my friend who is visiting right now, just spent a week at Celebrity Resort, RCI extra vacations, and a week at Fountains at Orlando, extra vacations. She has an RCI membership, never owned a timeshare, knows nothing about a timeshare, is mad they gave her only one bedroom instead of two bedroom units, paid the exchange fee only for her weeks.

That calls for a bit more explanation, don't you think?

My friend got a bonus certificate from Bluegreen entitling her to a certain amount of weeks at the exchange fee with 45 days notice. (the kind they gie out as an incentive) She called RCI and they said sure you can be a member and she bought a 3 year membership. she was persistent at calling RCI and was able to get the extra vacations at the exchange rate that I mentioned for two weeks in February.
Then they drove down to Fort Myers. I called Holiday Inn on Fort Myers Beach for AAA, AARP, etc rates. They quoted $239 to 295 a night. She got it for three nights (Presiden't's week ) for $133 a night and the hotel is full. This particular lady always gets a better deal than any one else.

But the point is that she joined RCI without ever owning a week to deposit or trade. While visiting me last night, she tried to get another week from RCi starting this wekend, but was unable to get one.
A neighbor from Wisconsin Dells called to tell me to tell her to stay down here, she says they won't even find their driveway (81 inches of snow already this season).

Here is the response I received from RCI:
The partial Guest Pass is not a membership. It is an option for already existing members to allow partial account access to family or friends. The account holder must express an interest to add a Guest Pass. Please have our member contact us. We will be happy to provide them with additional information.

              Kind Regards,

                Yeah?

                That's the way it works.

Did you think I was suggesting otherwise?

Not at all JLB; just some of the other posts seemed to be a bit confused like one could buy a "partial guest membership" independent of being or associated with a full RCI membership. But then, maybe I misunderstood some of those posts myself.

I never said anything about a "partial guest pass". I didn't realize this thread was limited to partial guest passes. My friend doesn't have one, she is a full member, with no ownership. If it off topic, please eliminate my posts.

                      My Clarification

The choice of words Non-Owner Members, was tongue-in-cheek JLB humor. Specifically, I was saying that former RCI TS owners who elect to continue their RCI membership after they no longer own anything, to be able to use EVs and LCs, have to pay the price of a full membership.

OTOH, those who have never owned anything, never paid an initiation fee, never invested all the money for ownership, can get the same thing, EVs and LCs, for a much lower fee.

I won't force any conclusion on you.
