RCI - car rental discounts

I was just wondering what kind of discounts are offered to RCI members for car rentals. They have advertised discounts for Budget & Avis on their homepage. But it says the discounts aren't applied until you pick up the car in person.

Has anyone used the discounts throught RCI? Is it a good discount?

I'm looking into rented a mini-van and a full size car for my next vacation in 2009, there will be 9 of us.

I haven't found the RCI auto discounts to be any better than ones you can get thru Costco or BJ's.

Lately many of us have had wonderful winning bids on priceline. If you are not familiar with Priceline I suggest you go to BiddingForTravel.com - The informed Priceline Travel Bidding Forum to learn and get an idea of what prices are being accepted at the location you need to rent a car at.
