  • Anyone know when the Phillipines start/stop answering calls?

Yes. I had to call RCI today and couldn't do it before mid-afternoon eastern time.

The Phillipinos wouldn't annoy me except for the fact that 3 different reps gave me 4 different answers today.

I'd love to get Toronto I'd even take Indie at this point to get a straight answer. Wish Ireland still took our early morning calls.

When I get a VC that I can't understand I politely tell them I need to call back at a later time.

Forget the weekends. I, too, have started politely saying "I'm sorry, I have to call back," as soon as I hear the delay on the phone that we get with the Phillipine connection.

I also tell them I'll need to call back, whether they are just un- or misinformed or if I cannot get through the accent.

I think we will try catching some data about when people are calling and what center is picking up the call.

They have got to be on a Day/Time network router of some sort. The game will be figuring out the parameters.

I just called RCI at 9:15am to snag Lawrens' sighting and I spoke with someone who seemed ...oh, what words can I use?? Native English speaker?? No issues at all.

When I first saw this thread title, I thought it meant that the whole nation of the Philippines only took calls during certain hours of the day!

Hey, it's not as crazy as it sounds. Back in the 1980s, I worked as an operator for my local phone company. I often placed calls to overseas, and some of the Caribbean islands had phone systems that only operated 8 or 12 hours a day. (They had the old fashioned system where you told an operator the name or number of the person you wanted to reach, and they had to connect you manually.)
