  • RCI Offer - What's Your Take ?

Beware of RCI bearing gifts ??

I'm wondering if this isn't a way to dump weeks lingering in their pool ? Do you think it's if you buy an extra vacation they offer you something out of their one-for-one pool, i.e, not much ?? Or am I coming down too hard on them ?

I would tend to think it would be like the bonus weeks and one + ones I got for 12 years and never was able to use.

BTW those EVs are pricey IMHO.

I would assume it's the 1+1s, but if you're renting something anyway, it's better than a sharp stick in the eye.

I feel if they are giving you something for nothing..it must be worthless. Like all the bonus weeks...
But, then again to people who just utilize EV for rentals only and do not own timeshares, they might think this is a treat and it may work for RCI.

Sometimes if people feel as though there is a deal, it would make it worthwhile not matter what.

I have a sister-in-law who bought some outdoor hoses because they "were such a good deal" she couldn't pass them up!

However, she doesn't have outside spigots!!!!

Still haven't figured the logic in that one

Over the past three years, I've received one bonus week and four 1+1 weeks from RCI. Was never able to make use of any of them. I suspect this is the pool from which they allow you to book your "free" week.

For once I think you are being too hard on RCI. If I'm reading the offer correctly you get a second week free, from a limited inventory, when you book a standard exchange. I don't see any catch in that.
Gift horses & mouth are the terms that come to mind.

I think this is the catch:
"You must book both your paid vacation rental and your free vacation rental between 05/01/08 and 05/31/08."

Maybe they have a lot of inventory for May that they couldn't rent out.

I read it a different way....I thought just to book the vacation, not to travel within the timeframe

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

This is how I read this also. The 1st EV you book can be anytime including summer. The 2nd week(also from EV inventory) that is free must be in the fall.

Your transactions must be booked in May 2008.

I think they have to much fall inventory. Perhaps the travel forcast indicate that travelers will slow down significantly later on in the year in addition to the normal slower travel season in the fall.

I wonder if they would tell who what the "limited free inventory" choices were before you booked the paid vacation.

Has anyone called RCI to inquire about the location of these weeks?

Does anyone ever call RCI if they don't HAVE to?
