  • Just completely confused!

    Hello everyone!

I just purchased a Wyndham resale on ebay for 211,000 annual points and I am trying desperately to figure out how this RCI works! I have read so many threads and now I am more confused than I started. With my resale purchase I did automatically acquire an RCI membership.

What I need to know now...

    1. Will my RCI account be in points or weeks? I am assuming since I bought a timeshare with points that is how it will be calculated.

    2. I have until the end of the year to use my 2008 211,000 points from Wyndham. If I deposited all of these points into RCI, what is the likelihood of being able to take a Caribbean/Mexico vacation through RCI in the beginning of December this year?

    3. How hard is it to book Europe? I would like to go next year, is that likely?!

    4. Any other tips on navigating RCI? I am able to travel relatively last minute and at low seasons.

All tips and help is greatly appreciated!

Weeks. Wyndham Fairshare Points have absolutely nothing to do with RCI Points. With Wyndham FSP points you make deposits into a RCI Weeks account for exchange.

Mexico, very easy, watch out for the All Inclusive resorts, they can be very very expensive. Caribbean in the fall, probably there will be some availability. Hopefully, your Wyndham RCI Weeks account will be set up within a couple of months AFTER your Wyndham account is set up.

You need to have a search on right now. Usually, Europe requires you to start a pending search 2 years in advance. Not impossible, but you might find something you like.

    4. Any other tips on navigating RCI? I am able to travel relatively last minute and at low seasons.

With your Wyndham account, in general you will not be able to do your own searches. A Vacation Counselor will have to do them. After you learn a little bit, you will learn there are ways to try to get a search week deposit so that you can do your own searches, but that's more algebra and geometry, and you are just learning your numbers and how to count.

All tips and help is greatly appreciated!

Where and when in Europe? Try summer in Spain

Than when you get RCI account, set it up, login, check "Vacation Offer", last call, and deposit a few 28k, and call VC to put on-going search at 45 days or less.
