  • RCI Weeks

We are new to this RCI. Is it of any value to book something at my home resort and then exchange with RCI for something else? Is RCI hard to deal with when it comes to something like this?

That depends on what you're looking for and where you have your home resort. If you have a floating week, it may depend on season..give us more details and we can help you.

Sometimes. If you can't deposit the week a year out, forget RCI.

We have done more than 100 RCI exchanges, and I have done thousands and thousands of searches. I have found it is hard to discuss with someone who has done none.

You certainly won't be able to get all that you have been led to believe you will, or as easy as it was made out to be. That part has not changed in 20 years. If your expectations are relatively simple, you may be pleased, and if not, not.

What you will gewt depends on what you own, when you own it, when you deposit it, and what others deposit. It appears that less and less is being deposited, while through the use of smoke and mirrors, their reporting makes it appear otherwise.

Generally speaking, if you want what other people want, you likely will not get it. Where do you want to go and what time of year wil mkae a lot of difference.

Even knowing all the ins and outs, it is very difficult for me to get something decent, and getting what we used to get is totally out of the question.

Incidentally, it turned out that all four of our team in golf league last Wednesday own TS right there at the golf course. We are all mature, knowledgeable. We all had a different understanding of how they work and how to go about it. The common thread was that using them is difficult through RCI. And it is an established Gold Crown resort, as is each of us .

RCI's trading power has gotten so wierded out lately, that even I (after all those searches) am asking others what they think is up, and not getting any logical answers.

An example: Because of reduced trading power, I have adjusted our Fl January trip back to December for 0-10. At first I was generally seeing stuff up until 12/19. I took a 12/12 week. Then, needing a 12/5 week to go with it, stuff that I was seeing for 12/5, similar to what I got for 12/12, was no longer available to us, when, with the help of Lawren, I can see that it is available.

As an explanation from RCI, nothing but BS, a hang up, and not wanting to discuss it.

Tell us where u own and what week and unit size.
If the ownership floats, what weeks can u make a reservation?

Without this info, we can't help you - and maybe the good news will be you can deposit with another exchange company that is more user friendly.

Also, tell us more about "something else", where you plan to go, when, what is more important to you, (location vs. quality), and BD size you need
