I agree, what a rip. all that hype for 40% off inflated "extra vacations" and then it's only a one day sale. They could have used the time they put in putting this up on the web site to do some real improvements to the web site!! lol

Can not tell if there is a truly 40% off or not. The page before login says 40%. after login, it says EV is 10%. And really could not tell which one has 40%.

Isn't last year they have fall discount?

I think the "something big" is going to be their new system of allowing folks to pay for a better exchange if their week normally wouldn't see it. The system was accidentally (?) rolled out a couple of months ago, some folks saw it, and then it was gone.

I'm here at my resort now, and at the owners' meeting we were also told that "RCI will be making the weeks system more transparent," so that sounds like the same thing. (They didn't know any more than that...that was probably exactly what RCI told them.)

While this may be good news for some folks who don't have very strong weeks and never seem to be able to pull the great stuff, I personally anticipate that many folks who **were** able to pull the good stuff before might now be asked to pay extra for it. (I think that one bedrooms exchanging into two bedrooms will be the first to "go" as far as being asked to pay extra, no matter how strong the one bedroom is.)

Of course, this is all speculation on my part.

The only thing that is transparent about RCI is its siphoning off deposits into multiple outside vending sites, like skyauction and the site that allows travel agents to sell weeks and use them as "pay" for themselves.

RCI continues to claim they are "responding" to what "customers" tell them....yada yada yada....repeat a lie long enough, maybe someone will believe it...but usually the only one who believes it is the one who tells it.

If you are with Wyndham(Fairfield) for most points members your payment for RCI account is automatically included (you have no choice)

Well they are in there screwing around with the drop down lists. Yellowstone is no where to be found this morning.

If they make me take even longer to search through what I do each morning that we will have to give up something...

Why can't they take a leaf out of II's book. In one search you get the entire available inventory for a two year booking window. What would be wrong with that. Obviously something.

What does making the weeks system more transparent mean? Like for like only.

I have been complaining about the search engine for a long time. We should all send emails with our disappointment to the hype for something that was not a "big" deal to many members and for the larger need of a better search engine.

I am doing it now.
