  • RCI phone call--membership dues

RCI called yesterday and reminded me that my membership expires in 2010 and the rates will be going up. They said the price will be $449 (for five years, I assume) but I could lock in now for $339. On the RCI website, I think it's $349 right now. Could it really be going up that much?

I think they are full of it. The current annual x 5 is $445....

Nothing matched up with what was on the website. It was strange. Also she tried to talk me into changing an ongoing request for summer 2010. Also tried to get me to deposit a 2009 week that we're planning on using. Uck.

RCI's pricing rises very quickly. You should have told them it wasn't worth half that much to join a rental agency.

I looked at the website pricing again. Why isn't there more of a discount for a ten-year membership? That comes out to $66.90 a year; the five-year comes out to $69 a year. For a big discount, I might spring for the ten-year.

Now I think about it, that will give me something to talk about next time they call.

I had a missed called from them and called them back - got the same spiel and my membership goes until 2012!

They've been chasing me for days, never leaving a message.

As long as we have been members, the lies around dues have been going on. That is another reason we are letting our membership die when we hit the expiration date. They sell off owners' weeks on their rental sites and provide little but lies in return....and they don't charge a fee for non-TS owners to rent those units. We cannot wait for RCI to be out of our lives for good.

Cancelled last year. Cannot afford a mini-system w/II benefits and RCI. Just returned from my last RCI exchange to Smuggs.

^^ Any updates on this? What's the latest "official" offer now from RCI? Curious to know if they've adjusted down their prices in light of the recent slowdown in global economy and what seems to be a rollback on prices for some commodities and services.

                        Renewal Rate

I did renew today. The RCI guy said 5 years for the price of 3. I think I paid about $277 USD for 5 years. I was also offered 3 years for the price of 2 (Not much less than the 5 year package). I was also offered a second package at the same price. Will have to wait until I receive CC statement to see what I paid. Also booked a rental for $279.99.

My current membership expires in 2011. They offered 3 year this morning for $319. One year is $124 so I get $53 saving that comes out to $106 per year. I passed.

^^ Thanks for the info guys. If I decide to renew later this year, I will also post the info on pricing.
