    The internet person I spoke to tonight suggested emailing feedback, said if enough people email, maybe they'll change the policy I called about and complained about. Here's my email:

    Hi folks,

    I've been a longtime member of RCI and almost always do my own searches online. My id # is _________.

    I called tonight because I couldn't figure how to modify an ongoing search myself. I was connected to an internet person and was told that feature is discontinued, with no plans to restore it.

    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - add that back in! It's insane to take away functionality that allows me to not waste RCI's time, and not waste my own time. I'm very unhappy about it, and hope either the person I spoke to was misinformed, or that you will change your plans.

    Please respond, and let me know the official answer.

      I am tired of emailing them....makes no difference the site just keeps getting worse and worse.....they need to hire a competent staff for their Sat. maintenance, I think the other crew just goes to sleep....and shuts everything off...LOL. Disgusted...

          I received a canned reply explaining how to modify an ongoing search. Only problem was, it explained how the website *previously* functioned, which was of course outdated and incorrect. They didn't even bother to update their canned answers after introducing their "new" website, and obviously they barely read my original email in the first place. I emailed back to let them know their answer was incorrect and requested they please address my question regarding their *changed* website, and never received a reply to the second email.

          Since then, I haven't bothered with any new ongoing searches, and my old one was cancelled and I never bothered to re-initiate it.

          Sydney, not only can't you modify an ongoing search ... if you have an ongoing search and put something on hold, and then release the hold, it automatically cancels your ongoing search. Then you have to call to request a refund, and initiate a whole new one. You lose your place in line, and have more debits and credits on your card, and waste even more time.

          It seems RCI's upper management decided to discourage ongoing searches, maybe they believe that's the cause of many members' dissatisfaction. I dunno. Although I like the ability to search wider time frames and use their map, personally I'm way less happier with RCI now. I had been willing to tie up money for ongoing searches previously, but no way now, and don't feel I'm getting access to the best exchanges possible by only checking current availability. But it's just too much work and hassle to deal with ongoing searches now.

          They've also reduced their phone hours - they used to answer the phone til midnite, now they close at 11.
