  • New RCI Search shows if you are affected by 1 in 4 rule

Just doing some searching this AM and found that if your search matches for a 1 in 4 resort that you are not eligible to exchange to because time not up since stayed there last, the new search puts a note at top of page stating that you "cannot confirm this resort on line due to 1 in 4 rule". It still shows you the available units your deposit can draw tho. I guess this is a plus as the old search never showed me that.
Additional info: It appears that it only gives that message for the specific resort you stayed at, even if the 1 in 4 applies accross the whole resort chain. I stayed at Grand mayan Riviera Maya last year and when I do a search it gives that message for that resort, but, does not show that message for other Grand Mayans or Mayan Palaces which as I understand it you can't go to any of them if you have stayed at one during the 1 in 4 period (or 1 in 5 if that's what it is now).

ETA: I found South Dakota. Midwest & Plains.

That's certainly where I would expect it to be. So it wasn't lost; you were.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

      “You shouldn't wear that body.”

I guess it is a good thing to show where you could have gone but can't.

The Manhattan Club weeks remain elusive... were there any left before the new "system?" And what about Gurneys'? It used to be in New York City...

I admit to being geographically challenged at times. Up until the upgrade SD was found in a more western modifier for RCI.

TMC was still showing some Oct/Nov 2009 in weeks when they pulled the switch. Have seen very little of Gurneys and now I see none of either. In truth I'm not sure RCI knows where NY belongs. In one search we come up in mid-atlantic which is accurate but the upstate bits have moved to new england. Could be worse though...there is one OC,MD resort that got moved to the carolinas...

I think I found a "sort" that I can live with but I'm still not happy about doubling the time necessary for ex-ops. Change is difficult, change that adds an hour a day at minimum is ridiculous.

Lawern I had the same problem with finding Va...... it was listed on the Carolinas/South. From the way it was listed I was thinking the Carolinas was as far north as it went. To find Va. I went the each region to view the list.
OP thanks for posting the 1 in 4 update on RCI. It helps with finding our way thru the maze.

This new system informing you about the 1 in 4 rule is about as messed up as any system could be. The GPR one is a mess.

If I am not mistaken, the Grand Mayans and the Mayans Places are not the same chain, thats what I was told when I stayed at the Palace Resort,
That The Grand Places resort was pardners that split up and one kept the Grand Place and the other form the Grand Mayan, Think I would check with RCI to see if the 4 in one rules apply to both grand mayan and grand places

That is odd, haven't seen that one yet, but I guess on the plus side at least some of the weeks are not included in 1 in 4.

When I enquired with RCI on the 1 in 4 rule they said it was Mayan, when I asked Mayan they said it was RCI.

Another time I brought to RCI on phone, no I can't go there as have been within 4 years, they said well this rule changes daily, sometimes it applies and other times does not. I said wow, pretty confusing, the RCI person said yes no kidding.....

I am an owner at Mayan anyway but did find this info quite interesting...so possibly it does apply certain weeks and not others...
