This is probably in here somewhere already (if so, accept my apologies for the duplication)- but just in case here goes!

Attached is the notice letter received from RCI weeks with the price changes.

I didn't see the caption that said "sock it to the Canadians". Did I miss something? I haven't been to the RCI website for a few yrs so I doubt that I would even know how to log on.

Surprisingly, us Canadians seem to have gotten a reasonable deal in this latest espisode.

I can see the call centre booking being higher, which is consistent with airline bookings, etc. The only major problem is the website is XXXXXX not working properly and the default is "call an RCI guide" so they really don't want us to use the website!

Wow, we get to pay extra to have RCI VGs screw up our accounts! I find this particularly infuriating since the online system doesn't allow me to use my exchange balance toward a new exchange, so I have to call the center.

And do they really want to encourage people to use a system that has been so fraught with major "glitches" recently?

I agree it sucks for us Wyndham owners. But we can do stuff on line, if, and only if, we plan very well and make only "visible deposits", which unfortunately Wyndham has been discouraging us from doing for years, by, telling us that "generic" or "non-visible" deposits are really better because they maintain "average" trading power of all Wyndham deposits.
You can make "visible" deposits and do your own searching but again, unfortunately, you have to do it early to get anything resembleing a good trader. If you wait until the end of the year to do your deposits to spread out you available use time you normally get the dregs bulk deposits that Wyndham has on record with RCI like Patriots Place, etc. Also, many times at the end of the year there are no lower point denomination deposits, such as 28K available as "visible". but I guess that doesn't matter much since Wyndham 28K deposits don't find much of anything anymore anyway, unless you are incredibly lucky. Since Wyndham and RCI are really still part of same big unbrella for us it's the classic "they givith and they takeith away".

It's worse than that. If you reequest a visible deposit, you might still be given a generic one. You can sometimes get owner services to undo it, but if they don't, you are stuck, because it is a permanent transaction.

Well, once that 2009 fee structure kicks in, wanna bet that you will find yourself feeling more and more forced into calling a VC just to get help because the system doesn't work right?

I would be okay with this if the new "ENHANCED SITE" worked. How ridiculous.....they do an enhancement, make changes to fees and the site barely works....ridiculous.

My bet is $ in addition to your deposited week for exchange. We know we saw that feature, we know it's coming. So now you'll see the million and two units you could exchange for and then a list of what else you could get for an upgrade charge.
