  • RCI One-Plus-One Bonus Weeks

I had several 1+1 weeks in my account and have just let a few pass unused but never could get a good answer on how to use and the cost to use them although I have asked several VC's. The other day I decided to email directly to RCI Customer Service and see if I could get an answer.
The email I got back was this:
    "Thank you for your e-mail.
The “One Plus One” program was started in 2002 and was provided to
members who confirmed an exchange into a specific, targeted area. The
“One Plus One” promotion then allowed members to confirm an additional
week in any of these targeted markets for a discounted rate. With the
introduction of discounts offered through Extra Vacations and Last Call,
the “One Plus One” program became less popular. Due to this lack of
interest, it was decided in May 2008 that the “One Plus One” program
would be discontinued. However, discounted rates are still available
through our Extra Vacation and Last Call programs.
To reduce confusion, we have removed the “One Plus One” deposit from
your account since it is no longer an active deposit. It should no
    longer be visible online.
We appreciate your taking the time to contact us."

I don't know if I missed the notification about the program being discontinued in May or if they just did it and didn't tell anyone. I know that I received my last bonus not long ago (don't know for sure if it was after May or not). I wrote back that I thought that it was kind of a poor way to go about this and that they should have given members the chance to use these weeks before just discontinuing them. Also, I though it was rather bad form that they left the weeks in my and I assume others accounts until I asked about the program and then removed them "for my benefit" to avoid confusion.
Haven't heard back from them yet. I am one of those that has had pretty good luck with RCI and my trades but the little things like this really leave a bad taste in my mouth!

Sometimes RCI works it out and it becomes 1 + 1 = -1

        They were useless anyway.

I did notice tonight that the 5 or 6 in my account have been removed.

I noticed that mine were gone a couple of weeks ago, but since I was never able to get anything with them anyway, it didn't matter to me. However, I do know that I never received notification that they were discontinuing their "program".
