    Glitter brought this up a short while ago and I have had another run-in with a "phantom week" recently. A little bit of data to rummage through.

    It seems to me with the new system at RCI that if someone has a week on hold, NOT confirmed but On Hold, that the week will still show as available on a search but will not allow you to hold or confirm that week.

    My thoughts are, that if you really want that week, initiate the on-going search. If it drops off hold for some reason you just may get it.

    Hey Lawren,

    I had this experience last week with RCI. I saw the same week online for at least 24 hours and I couldn't put it on hold. I called RCI and the guide couldn't see it at all. The guide told me that the system isn't live -- and someone probably booked the week. He told me to sign off and sign back on and that it would probably be gone -- and it wasn't. So, the guide recommended that I call internet support or something like that. I didn't -- I just figured the system was no longer live -- and that maybe there was a longer lag time than the guide suggested.

    I don't like it It just allows for false excitement

      The way I have been checking lately, if it is not a Points resort, I will go and try to pull the week with Points. If it isn't in Points it really isn't there to get.

      False excitement is putting it lightly. I didn't log into RCI for 48 hours I was so pi$$ed.
