    Two RCI affiliations...??

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am now a member of the Raintree resorts club.. (Club Regina in Puerto Vallarta) in the deal came an RCI membership --for which I am charged a $90. fee yearly. even the yr. I do not use has a fee just to "Keep" myself active with RCI ... then on as I read, I see that even though I was told that my 24,000 points with Raintree would trade globally with the RCI point weeks, I am being told that, since I bought an every other year... contract with Raintree, I am only able to exchange on a weekly basis with I.I. I think this means no split weeks. NOW, for 3 yrs I have been a member of SHELL which also has an RCI membership tacked onto it's M. F. I am not able to do "global exchanging" of the same nature there... as the points are worth different amounts... (still with Me??) so consequently the places I can get through RCI in the SHELL membership are not a full week (like 5 days). Is there any advice you could give me how the get "RID" of one of these.. I can see in the future, maybe selling my SHELL points to the Raintree people to upgrade to a bigger unit.. and that would do it.. IN THE MEANTIME, it is a wicked thing to charge a person twice for membership in RCI (especially since I in any case would be having to save up points for 2 yrs in EITHER of these Memberships that are carrying the RCI charge in their M. F.'s Why cant I do something similar to what I.I. allows... put two resorts on one membership.. for merely $39. more (which I have with my 2 I.I. affiliated resorts..??? Help! I am only 15 days into this newest blunder.. is there a way to drop the RCI from it (the Club Regina M.F.--before next yrs. )??? What would you do??

I believe that Shell Vacation Club come with a manitory RCI membership (just like HGVC requires an RCI membership), but I don't believe that a RCI membership is required with raintree. Which means you could drop the raintree RCI membership.

If you can drop the RCI membership from raintree, you should be able to do it now and get partial credit for the fee.
