  • When good things happen to bad people (Kudos to RCI)

So, a couple weeks ago, I pulled the trigger on a 2BR week at a Powhatan 2BR for late June/early July '10. I was going to wait to see if something better came along in Wburg for that time period, but after watching Summer '09 and it's dearth of deposits (Williamsburg! Who knew?) I figured discretion was the better part of valor.

Last night, there was a message on my answering machine...from RCI.

Lo and behold, there was a mistake. But, this time, in my favor. It turns out the owner wanted to deposit their unit as a single 4BR, not 2 2BRs. So, my 2BR was canceled, and I was given the 4BR instead.

    Fair enough.

    Nice!!!

Why on earth anyone would deposit 2-two bedrooms as 1-four bedroom is beyond me but now you will have plenty of room and a hot tub!

Shoot! I've got an ongoing search for a 3br in summer 2010. You're a lucky devil!

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

The RCI rep who called clearly thought it was strange.

I know at my resort, I own a 3br that's a lockoff with a 2br side and a 1br side. Of course I always deposit them separately...but some people definitely do deposit the whole 3br unit all at once. I know when I call the resort to make the deposit, I always have be very specific that I want to deposit the unit as two separate deposits.

The way the MFs are down there it makes no sense at all. Especially with RCI. Unless they are doing a PFD...and that is foolish as well when 2 - 2BDRM net 80k and 1-3BDRM+ only nets 56k.

The other thing that your post seems to verify is the Powhatan weeks we are seeing in RCI are not developer but individual deposits. At least for primetime periods like summer.

But yeah, totally weird....maybe they thought they were depositing in 'size is everything' II?
