  • Non-standard weeks - help please

    Hello,

I'm new to RCI. I deposited my Wyndham points with RCI and they are showing up in my account as non-standard weeks. What does this mean? Is it harder to exchange with these kind of weeks? I do see that I have to call. I can't search online.

    Thank you.

Generic, "invisible" points deposits from Wyndham

Wyndham points deposits in RCI are of two types:
    1. Generic "invisible" offline points deposits that cannot currently be used for online searching. This is the default. You have to call to exchange them.
    2. Specific "visible" online weeks that can be used for online searching. You have to specifically request these, e.g. by checking a box if you deposit points online.

There are pros and cons to each. When you get a specific "visible" week, it has the trading power RCI assigns to that week at that resort in that area that was deposited whenever Wyndham deposited it, and Wyndham chooses which week you get and also when the week was deposited. Sometimes you are lucky and get a good trader, more often you get a week that Wyndham deposited in RCI because it was unlikely to be reserved within the Wyndham system. The offline generic invisible weeks are supposed to have the average trading power of a Wyndham week of that size and season.

Wyndham and RCI have been hinting (for years) that online searching may be extended to the type of week you have, but it has not happened yet.
