RCI TV - new marketing?

Did you all get this email from RCI.com with a link to "RCI TV" ???

It look like RCI has invested some real money in marketing. I watched the "destination reviews" video on Williamsburg and it reminded me of the some of the stuff you see on the Travel channel. Interestingly, "Dan the RCI Guy" gave a general overview of places to visit and sightsee in this destination, along with trivia bits, but there were no specific resorts reviewed or even mentioned. Seems like the destinations videos are designed to be an enticement to encourage RCI members to consider exchanging into areas where RCI often has plentiful inventory.

The Previews video share a lot of "coming soon" enhancements to the RCI website and interface but no actual dates to tell when these things will actually be available.

Thoughts, anyone?

Yes, I got the email. I think that given this economy and the number of people who simply are not taking as many vacations, they need to do something creative to generate more interest...thus they talk about locations vs resorts.

They have competition from the independents, maybe that will make them do a better job and create more value. I have seen a couple of the videos and they are informative
