....I got your email today. You know the one that reads this way:

Do me a favor RCI, quit emailing me these lovely reminders of how you have ruined the whole concept of timeshare EXCHANGING.....I have 2 deposits that I am trying to use, and cannot find the suitable exchange I have longed for....but you sure will sell me something called an EXTRA vacation for a price I don't want to pay, less 25%.

By the way .... EXTRA implies that I got an exchange and want to add something to my experience....but since I haven't gotten that exchange, it really isn't anything EXTRA, is it?

So, Dear RCI, why don't you go sell your disguised value to someone who can be fooled into thinking this is a great deal.....and stop sending me these emails that just remind us of how little you really care!

As RCI reads all these boards, I just posted it where I know I can publicly humiliate them....they don't read or consider emails that a paying member might send to them. I have 20 plus years of experience with them, and I can tell you this recent website improvement and new "settlement" and other enhancements have proven to be the absolute worst "customer service" design they have ever implemented.

By the way, I would be curious to know how many folks have been able to match any ongoing searches? I know, no one wants to trust them with that little feature.....

It has all been written before. They must be caloused to it by now. Are you participating in Americas favorite passtime (complaining ) or is RCI really of no assistance to you? If you get no value from RCI why do you belong? why don't you cancel your membership and use your unit your self or deposit with someone else. That is the only thing RCI will react to, MONEY

If you get no value from RCI why do you belong? why don't you cancel your membership and use your unit your self or deposit with someone else. That is the only thing RCI will react to, MONEY

As you are relatively new, I will cut you some slack here....my history and relationship with RCI is well documented here.

As I said, if RCI were truly an exchange company, they wouldn't be renting out units to non-fee non-dues paying people.....your units, if you deposit with them.....my units, and anyone else's.....they don't provide good value to paying members but they sure as hell are reaping lots of profit.
By the way ... welcome to Forums....I hope you get around to reading the many posts by so many of us who have years of experience with RCI....

A lot of old posts given new life today.

However, I don't understand your stance. While prior good exchanges may have happened with RCI, they are primarily a rental site now.

We all regret that and will look for the next best opportunity to leverage what we have. Often that is still RCI.

We all need to adjust away from the current RCI model because, it sure as hell, isn't the one we were used to and I do agree with your revolution to it.

My attitude now is a bad relationship happened but move on to another.

RCI, or other big exchange companies too, are no longer what they used to be nor are the big timeshare resort developers either when they went over to a floating or point based system. They can change it any time when they feel like it and it will always cost you more money because that is the whole idea behind it. More money and more control over what you own, just like our Government and it will only get worse! Timesharing is no longer what it used to be.
