New to RCI - Cruise Voucher

I just joined RCI a few months ago and deposited my week as a test and subsequently exchanged into DVC with it. Today in my email I received a Cruise Vacation Voucher. Does this have any value? Has anyone successfully used it and was it really cheaper?

I highly doubt it's any bargain. Check the prices on some other discount cruise sites to see. When I checked years ago RCI wasn't any better, in fact they wanted my banked week PLUS the same or more money as the cruise would have cost me through another agent. This seems like just another veiled method of revenue for RCI, this time as Travel Agent.

If I'm wrong, let me know, I'll eat my hat.

That was kind of my guess too, doubted they could beat the big cruise agents. I guess I'll play around when I have time out of curiosity. Does RCI ever do bonus weeks with deposit like II, and if so, how do you know you are eligible for one?

RCI's bonus weeks (called "1+1" weeks) were essentially worthless---they cost more to redeem than to just straight rent the week from RCI. They've since eliminated them.

I agree...just compare cruise discounters...waste of time.

Never used mine and found not of much value.......no big discount! Actually I found no discount!!
