We know about all the complaints. Our own members have plenty of complaints. Look here and read them RCI - Timeshare Forums

The class action has been discussed here for a long time. We know RCI wants to take money from us. People have already made their decisions. Joy explained it by saying "Some of us have voted with our checkbooks and walked away; others are still playing the game with RCI and will until RCI no longer fills our needs."

Read all of posts here RCI - Timeshare Forums You will see that the people on this forum know the bad points about RCI. They help each other solve the problems.

To summarise: The people here know about the problems with RCI. They thought you were asking for help to solve your problems with RCI and couldn't work out why you didn't answer their questions.

    • Rci crimes.

I just got a message that people here know rci is bad.again, when i started this forum i wanted members to object to class action. Reason -this is one way we can get money back. We will see how honest class action is because i sent them many unanswered crimes of rci. When i am done with this rci battle,we can talk about travel. I use rci 10-12 times a year. Now i cant do anything because rci will not respond to anything. I am working on that story, because my vacation planning is ruined. Again, big money robs us rampantly and doesnt respond,so what can we do? I am working on that. Any fishermen here? Any good spots. Kauai hawaii good spot but 8 foot seas all year. Kona was bad last year. Hope to get there this year. Over the years the best place in the world is venice louisiana, but there is absolutely nothing there. Cabo, get panga for 150 dollars and catch fish. The shocking thing is you cant play golf cheaply anywhere in cabo. Fishing extremely cheap. Golf extremely expensive.

      • Class Action Lawsuits are to benefit the Lawyers not the people they represent. This has also been discussed all over this board and OY. Object like crazy and maybe or maybe not the outcome will change. I will guess maybe not.

I have not been to Cabo but have heard the fishing is probably the best in the world. I would love to go but would not pack the clubs and If I found a great deal on golf would probably rent.

Much better post probably something most everyone can relate to. I use RCI about 4-5 times per year I am a happy member. Also a Weeks member Have also owned points but bought resale and have sold the package.

Venice for fishing? Never would have thought.

        • I am never happy when I am being fleeced and that is what the rental of RCI spacebank deposits does. I have seen myself the steep decline in availibility.

We really ought to file ethics complaints against these lawyers for their stabbing their clients in the back to line their own pockets.

We need to be proactive and get the word out everywhere we can about RCI's rental scam, and also specifically to our resorts that we want to give our fellow members alterantives. We need to demand that our resorts 1) dual affiliate with II, and 2) educate members about their ability to use the independent exchange companies. The best way to end RCI's frauds to make sure that other timeshare owners know their alternatives as well as knowing how RCI is scamming them.

Was in venice 4 times. Fished twice and killed the redfish and seatrout in not so good conditions. The other times boats came in full of fish including louisiana state record for yellowfin tuna.there is no fast food, rather modest motels, basically nothing there. Rci in new orleans. Cabo is great because for 150 dollars get panga which is very comfortable for two. Caught roosterfish and amberjack close to shore.

            • Slim, what is it that you really own?

SPM Resorts manages Outer Banks Beach Club and Outer Banks Beach Club II.

Ocean Villas has never used SPM, but uses a manager hired by the HOA. If you mean Ocean VIllas II, it also has a manager hired by the HOA (but a different person from the manager at its sister resort).

Outer Banks Beach Club and Outer Banks Beach Club II are former Peppertree resorts, while Ocean Villas and Ocean Villas II are former First Flight resorts.

The management company you name does not match the resort you name.

Slim, what country are your from? Your English is quite "interesting" so I know that it isn't your native language. I am not insulting you because I am not a native either. Also, try to reply to the several questions the people have asked you here so we can try to help you, otherwise we cannot help you at all. Do you understand???

Please, don't repeat the complaints again that you quoted several times before because we have the link and can read it there ourselves if we wish to do so.

                • OK Slim, I've changed my mind. Why don't you stick around a while? You're certainly an interesting character and with all your timeshare experience you probably have a lot to offer. It's just that you came on a little strong in the begining and alienated a few of the "regulars". You certainly wouldn't be the first one to do that, though.

Perhaps you could start a thread that interests you and is unrelated to your current complaints with RCI or Blue Bay or...whatever. Or maybe you can look through some of our other forums and contribute to a thread. We have a search feature, as well, if you're looking for a particular topic.

Just keep in mind, that as a group, we tend to be a very educated and knowledgable bunch and we will give it to you straight.

Welcome to timeshareforums. We hope you enjoy your stay!

                  • About your Hawaii exchanges - YES, the rep should not have allowed you to book if the 1 in 4 rule was in effect. I would have to say you got screwed on that one.

BUT, they should have offered other resorts to move you to.

I, personally, think the 1 in 4 sucks rocks.

                    • What resorts in Hawaii have a 1-in-4 restriction? The Pahios? I know that the former Embassy resorts (Point at Po'ipu and Ka'anapali) have (or had) regional blocks.

I think the HGVCs probably have them, too.

HGVC had which - 1-in-4 or regional block?

What I'm getting at here is that the only trading restrictions enforced by RCI in Hawai'i that I can think of off the top of my head is the regional block that involved the old Embassy Resorts. Embassy set it up so you couldn't trade into another Hawai'i resort with an Embassy week, and in retaliation many other resorts prohibited people from trading in using an Embassy Hawaii week.

But I can't think of a resort that had a 1-in-4 restriction, such as exists with other resort operations. But I'm not totally certain; somewhere I recollect that the Pahios may have had such a restriction at one time, but if they did I'm not certain they still have it.

Which gets back to Slim's comment about getting caught in a 1-in-4 situation. Which resort was it?? There has been so much other confusing information in Slim's posts that it's hard to understand exactly what may or may not have happened.

                          • It might depend on WHEN, too, right? I don't follow Hawaii, nor the 1-in-4, but it seems that RCI changes rules when they want to.

One thing I want to know, tho - I am certain that 1/4 applies to Weeks exchanges, but is it also in effect for RCI Points Exchanges? Since I don't own their points, it's hard to keep track of the diffs between their 2 programs.

and, I guess, Slim, the question is, how did you obtain the Hawaii confirmations? Via RCI Points, RCI Weeks, or another RCI program like Extra Vacation or Last Call?

                            • HGVC has the 1 - in - 4, though it's not clear if it applies across all Hiltons or is resort-specific:

THIS RESORT ENFORCES THE 1 IN 4 YR.RULE FOR REG.EXCHANGES.*

                              • I believe HGVC is per-resort.

it seems that RCI changes rules when they want to.
It might be more accurate to say that RCI changes the rules when the resorts want them changed. RCI could, presumably, push back, but the resorts are the "real customers" of RCI---affiliation agreements drive exchange membership.
