We bought a timeshare from El Cid Resorts in October 2007. We were promised many things - access to RCI resorts worldwide, using points for airfare, free RCI week/ free cruise etc. El Cid promised that with their timeshare, we would no longer need to book a vacation with anyone else again. Our experience has been the total opposite.
We have tried to book vacations at RCI resorts, tried to use our points to purchase airfare and tried to use our "free" RCI week and cruise. Every time we call their vacation planning number, we're either told their system is down or that they would get back to us. They never do. If the only place I can book a vacation is at 1 of their 3 locations, I would not have spent any money to do so. I wanted the global access and flexibility they promised us.
To make matters worse, every time we called to complain, we got exactly the same reply. Either their system was down and couldn't verify our complaint or they would get back to us. And ... you guessed it, they never do.

We are in the process of reporting this to the Mexican government and anyone else who will help to stop this rip-off. We want our money back!!

I just don't know where to begin.
After years of this and getting no where I have had it!!!!!
My husband and I purchased back when the company was called Cendant Resorts and Time shares.
Never in all my years could we have imagined the crap they have pulled.
this year they have committed a federal offense, We had 2 contracts We paid on and they only sent me (1) one 1098 on statement of taxes.
Stating they only send out the paperwork if it is requested,

I HAVE CALLED AND CALLED AND CALLED VEGAS 800-251-8736, VIRGINIA 757-229-0302 , FLORIDA 888-739-4016 AND BOSTON 888-648-7363 REQUESTING MY PAPERWORK AND STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTS AND GOT NOTHING! 180 DAYS AND STILL WAITING.

So I now have to refile my taxes for the last 2 years! They never claimed the interest earned from our payments there was no record filed with the IRS. I have never ever seen this!! CROOKS!!!

We have never ever been able to stay at any of our home resorts where we supposedly owned, We had the Palm Air in FL, Oceans Walk In FL And Now Kings Gate, VA.

We just want out!!! But guess what They don't have a buy back policy! We have paid over and over and have nothing to show for it! And still Owe them $39,000

We were told time and time again "well if you just buy in to the next level all the benefits would increase so you will be able to enjoy our resorts" Lies, lies, lies!

We say no! Not Again! We don't need or want any more points! We can't even use the points we have why would we buy more? Nothing is gonna change. They have oversold again and again, what working person has 13 months in advance to book a vacation at the maximum points? not us.

There are never ever rooms available when and where we need them. So we have a time share and stay in nearby hotels anyway spending even more money. Just not worth it anymore,
I have seen The rooms I need and want go off on ebay and other timeshare sites for 500 for a week and we are here stuck paying 900 a month and can't even use it cause there is no availability.
All this for what Dirty Resorts, Horrible Service, Nasty Clerks, Smelly Slow Elevators. Not worth it!

We just want out! we have been asking to get out of my contract for 3 months now cause I have become ill and we are unable to make the payments anymore with the medical bills and they don't care!
We don't want anything back we said although it would be nice to see some money back, our contract is worth 86,000, we only owe 39,000. But we are just looking to get out of this.
All the lost points we paid for, all the RCI weeks never used, All of this is not worth it!

And Every time you go on vacation they say "oh can we have 30 minutes of your time" it ends up being 2-4 hours of the same lies, deceit and trickery heaven forbid you don't give them the chance to run your credit! They just don't let up!

We have tried all the timeshare companies trying to sell it and after paying even more fees , we still have it. No one wants it and we don't either. I want this all to end, we can't do it anymore. How can we be relieved from our unwanted undesired contract! HELP US PLEASE

Anecdotes cut and pasted from off the internet are NOT evidence of a crime. If what you are submitting to a court is the same as what you have posted here, it's not surprising you've had no success because:

• What you are presenting is incoherent ramblings. Legal pleadings present points, and back those points up with specific, documentable, verifiied evidence.

• What you are presenting is anecdotes, not evidence. if you were a party to the case, and you wanted to present that information as evidence, the least you would need to do is make every one of those people available for cross-examination by the other side.
  
  Are you able to do that? Have you contacted everyone of those people and received their agreement to prepare sworn statements, submit to depositions, and appear in court for testimony and cross-examination?
  
  If you have not done that you don't have evidence of anything. Quit talking about all of this so-called because what you are posting is not evidence and means absolutely nothing in a court of law.

Slim, the reason you are getting criticism (which is far from ridiculous) is because you are doing EXACTLY what you are complaining about RCI doing. You are not answering the questions posed by the members of this board. You continue to rant and rave and continue to say you have "evidence." Cut and paste of internet postings is NOT evidence. Any idiot with computer access and an internet connection can post on the internet. It PROVES nothing.

You are telling the membership here, where you have been a member for all of maybe one week to NOT COME HERE "IF" they (the membership here) can't accept the obvious. The only obvious thing is that you are seeking attention. You will not answer our questions; you have been asked to not continually cut and paste your so called evidence from the internet over and over. You have been asked repeatedly to be specific and yet you refuse to comply.

Exactly WHY are you still posting. Is it not clear that we are all weary of you????

IS BELOW TRASH? Another important item. I addressed rci problems with credit card company. Rci did not respond to crimes with credit card co. And i was refunded about 800 dollars. Still getting some critics. These people probably loved bernie madoff. One of many cases. Rci partners charged me 115,000 points and 131 dollars for a small hotel room,far outside istanbul turkey.the official rci confirmation did not have points or the breakfast for two that was promised. I callled and was promised by three different people at partners that breakfast was included. The last time that i used partners i was charged 150 dollars more than was agreed on by partners.gave to car co. As dispute,they agreed that price was out of range and credited my account. Get to istanbul turkey and breakfast was not included.sent repeated emails to rci with no response. Called up rci, waited long time,and person said i was to get breakfast,contacted management at resort,no breakfast. I sent rci bills for breakfast,and phone calls to them and not one word of response. Resort could not tell me what they charged,nor would orbitz tell me anything. The point is that this was a super overcharge. Rci gave me some points back,but was still super overcharge. Them not responding is in black and white as is the evidence that i gave you about rci corruption. The pool didnt work and there was no van to the city as was promised,so i had to pay taxi. Gave this bill to rci and no response. The vacation was ruined and the stress for rci not responding was incomparable. I have travelled all over the world and when you address a problem with a company,they address the problem.rci does what it wants to do despite the law.

As i said from day one i was trying to get everyone to object to class action settlement. I am still looking for anybody for info on what can be done to help class action settlement. This is for members of rci.people can think rci is great. I did not tell one lie here.without doubt,i have used rci as much as anybody here and i know what they are trying to do. You saw in black and white what a vp spokesman said for 11 days and that is nothing. I addressed lie told to cancel my hawaii vacation weeks and no response.airfares and fishing charters paid for. If you like what i am saying help,if not you do not have to come on site to throw nasty criticisms
