  • is anyone else receiving a virus alert

I receive a virus alert when I go searching for a resort on RCI. I can usually key in the area and calendar and continue and for points reservation - I get to see a list of resorts, then I look at weeks inventory, key in the area, calendar and continue and I get back a message from my worksite that it's a virus alert and to close the window: this is the virus/malware it says I have encountered:

    VirusName: "WW: Heuristic.HTML.Malware"
    Url: "http://www.rci.com/RCI/GPN2/CDA/Functional/Navigation/GPN2_index"
    File: "http://www.rci.com/RCI/GPN2/CDA/Functional/Navigation/GPN2_index"
    File type: "text/html"

I called RCI - first guy told me I didn't know how to navigate the internet. Luckily I sent an email also and finally got a response, things I had already done though, clear out cache, open in new window and type rci.com, etc. It didn't help. This started when the company moved in a new symantec product. It was able to look at the availabilty of resorts 3 weeks ago.

Does anyone have any ideas??? or can help me?

    TIA, Silvia

      Silvia,
You may need to run your av program to be sure you have not been infected. There is a virus that goes around and pops up an alert, and then folks end up being sucked into buying a virus program.

Hopefully you have an up to date AV program such as McAfee....be sure it is up to date and run a full scan.

I have not had any problems such as you describe.
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

RCI has malware on their site.

Silvia has Symantec End Point installed on her machine. Symantec is detecting a virus, RCI does not know their behind from their elbow! Her anitvirus is up to date. Trust me on that.
