Apparently, in the Brave New World, if you cancel an ongoing search, you get the fee refunded rather than having to call:

Your Search has been Cancelled If you requested a Refund and have monies on account, RCI will process your refund in the same format your payment was made within 5 business days.

Once the powers that be realize the fee gets refunded without calling they will change it so they can "work" with your money longer.

Joy, I'm pretty sure the powers that be were the ones that made the change...they do own the web site, after all.

my comment was written tongue in cheek...

          not new

I have canceled 2 searches in the past few months and although I got a similar message I have yet to receive the refund. The money still shows on my account balance. I have called twice to get a refund, and despite assurances that it has been taken care of, I still have not managed to get the money back.

I thought they change the process that now if you ask for on-going search, you don't have to pay first?

              Sorry, Joy---my mistake.

Jya-Ning: you no longer have to pay for a hold. You still have to pay for an ongoing search.

So here's a question for those of you who have gotten farther with the new site than I have.

The system searches and it shows you ALL the matches, against ALL your deposits. Has anyone gotten to a screen where you're actually booking? If you have, how do you choose the deposit to use for this exchange?

This must be an amazing miscalculation on the part of RCI IT management.

Almost everything times out. I can never reach final screens.

The fact they have not rolled back the change, or initially managed traffic on the initial change to a site in increasingly percentages to test the load, to a non IT person is incredulous.

                  To the question asked, NO.

It really is unbelievable. They must be losing a fortune. I certainly hope they are, anyway.

If they are losing a fortune they will just adjust their prices up accordingly I'm sure.
