  • anyone else have trading power drop significantly??

My SA red week was pulling 180k units as of last week and now it is pulling a lowsy 50k!!?? I'm shocked and even loosing sleep over this. I am a new timeshare owner and decided to purchase SA week for its trading power in relation to low maintenance fees. Now I'm wondering what in the world to do with this. I contacted RCI and I asked if anyone else was having issues with there trading power, and they told me no. When I asked why it had dropped so much all they could tell me was that what i see is what is available...
How does this make any sense!!?? Did 100k units get taken overnight??!! how stupid do they think I am?

    Hi georgebanks,
The trading value of your week is set at the time of deposit. Your trading value can't plunge after you have deposited your week. RCI is in a mess right now and any information you get from the website will be suspect.

Don't lose sleep over their IT incompetence, it will all get sorted out in the next week or two.

Since we now have a thread with that specific question, I am curious as to whether I am the only one seeing significantly (30000) less after the enhancement with my good trader.

I asked my favorite feedback person and she basically said we need to wait for things to shake out, and then pursue it if the numbers don't go back up.

But, am I the only one dinged by the enhancement?

My best trader dropped 10K but my worst one jumped dramatically. I could never understand why there was such a disparity since they are all at the same resort and all holiday weeks. Personally, I am delighted but I also expect things to return to normal after tonights "maintenance". I am curious where are the locations of the resorts that dropped so significantly? So far we have heard from 2 South African resort owners.

As I noted elsewhere, I wrote to RCI about my peak SA week becoming a weak week in two days. They said the enhancements weren't quite up to par yet and to check again in a week. I would encourage others to send them an email.

Does that mean those who saw increases should lock in exchanges if we find them?

I'd like to do that but I can't get a search to get far enough to show availability.

Curious. Did you search the other way? How much availibility at this resort is showing in the RCI system? If there is a lot of availibility, then supply and demand factors are to blame. If not, it is obviously a glitch, and that is something that should be pointed out in your complaint to RCI.

I just tried a search in the RCI system for availibility at Dikhololo, and found nothing. I tried searchin under South Africa and then specifically for Dikhololo, still nothing. Either RCI has no inventory availible there, in which case it should be a very strong trader, or there is some glitch impacting Dik in the RCI system on both the availibility and trading power sides.

It seems RCI.com has settled down, but my better trader is still less than it was. It is seeing the next 24 months.

Before it was seeing 165000 to 170000 exchanges, the same as anyone with a top trader. Right now it is seeing 148179.

What's the most anyone is seeing?
