Our 20 years of ups and downs with RCI has been mostly ups.

Along the way I have come across people who have been helpful, able to smooth over the rough spots. Unrelated to our RCI experience, even in our horrible experience with Wastegate I was able to come across those same types of people. I still remember their names and what it was they did for us. There seems to alwasy have been someone who understood and wanted to do the right thing.

This time things appear to be different. There appears to be total denial. I see no effort to set things straight or even to offer up an explanation of what happened during the disenchancement, as if time will make all that go away.

Without an explanation there appears to be no other than that the website enhancement was used to grab a bunch of desirable weeks and put them somewhere else. If that is not the case . . . show where they are. Pretty simple.

    Very disappointing.

My resort availability has been going down as well....does it fluctuate similarly due to Holiday demand for Dec/Jan ?

I have done at least 10,000 daily searches of this area (FL/SGC) and can tell you that it does not fluctuate, contrary to what others may say. It seldom has ever changed more than a handful from day to day.

That is assuming you are always looking at the next 24 months, so you don't have a month dropping off every now and then.

              • What's everyone seeing now for FL/SGC for the next 24 months. Here's mine:

                21 Resorts (234 available units)

Only one HGVC, a Surf Club.

                • With very good but not quite great weeks (sees most DVC but no MC): 22/244.
With the strongest week I have access to (sees MC): 23/247.

The difference: one sees three units at The Charter Club of Marco Beach (#0613), the others do not.

It is easy to see that for yourself now that they show you the numbers, something we use to have to figure ourselves.

For instance, SGC the past week has been no lower than 232 and no higher than 238.

(before the disenhancement that figure was 600-ish . . . I am still amazed that there is not more public outcry about the disappearance of so many obviously highly desirable weeks)

Oh I'm sure people are screaming but RCI doesn't care about anything other than it's bottom line. Exchanging hotel rooms for condos and renting the condos is obviously a profitable business model.

                        Let's play "what's missing".

Here is what the monthly breakdown is for SGC this morning:

                        September 2009 [4]
                        October 2009 [1]
                        December 2009 [1]
                        April 2010 [4]
                        May 2010 [14]
                        June 2010 [13]
                        July 2010 [17]
                        August 2010 [48]
                        September 2010 [44]
                        October 2010 [35]
                        November 2010 [15]
                        December 2010 [17]

Precisely. So far, if you complain loud enough and long enough, RCI might bump a few of your older deposits up in trade power to make you go away---and I suspect even that will come to an end eventually.

This is one of those situations where we each have to decide if RCI is delivering us value, or not, and behave accordingly. If you decide to leave them, it would not hurt to send them a letter telling them why. But, complaining to them, and then depositing more units, doesn't do anything other than waste a little time.
