  • There is a heavy tail, as I suspected. Not many weeks use the upper half of the range at all.

I have two deposits available. At this moment:

a deposit with trade power value 31 sees: 144,197
a deposit with trade power value 28 sees: 143,191

If I click "change search" and ask for all available vacations (not just those that are bookable) I see: 144,885

The numbers are bouncing a little bit, as you'd expect. But, even so, you're looking at about 0.6% of all available deposits with trade power required higher than 31.

    • Interestingly, it looks like VEP is still in play. Those totals were both with a silver crown resort. An unrated resort with a trade power of 32 sees 145,295. That account, searching for "all vacations" sees a total of 145,900, give or take.

I have to admit, I like being able to see what is what. Very illuminating!

      • Getting rid of the extremely annoying downward VEP filter would have been one positive thing they could have done. It is unfortunate that they seem not to have done it. And if they are supposedly letting people see everything now, the upward filter should be gone, too.

Agreed. I was not able to "trade up" this morning (use more than one deposit for an exchange).

            This is possible, but non-obvious.

Search for a Vacation, then on the dark blue bar, click on the "Click to Change" box. This brings up your individual units that you can search against, and also the option to "Show all available vacations". If you click that button, you see everything (minus, presumably, things that are VEP-filtered.)

Then, when you search for something that has some units beyond your reach, you are shown the list of things you can get without combining, and (separately) the list of things you can't. At the bottom of that list, you are provided a link that will allow you to go to the "manage deposits" screen to combine. For example, looking at Coastal Maine, most units are at or below my high-water mark of 30. but, a few are not:

            1 Bedroom 4 (4) Full Sat 29-Sep-2012 Sat 06-Oct-2012 Exchange Fee 36
            2 Bedrooms 6 (4) Full Sat 01-Sep-2012 Sat 08-Sep-2012 Exchange Fee 33
You can combine two or more of your deposits to increase your trading power. You will be charged $99 to combine your deposits. Once done you may be eligible to book the above units subject to availability. Click here to combine your deposits now

Ah. Thanks for poking at that a little deeper. I did not see it as an option in Caribbean earlier even though I did change to everything....I clicked on ineligible deposits thinking I would get there that way. Maybe I just needed mroe coffee.

I cannot get this "click to change" box to work with Firefox - anyone else having this problem.

I can get it to work in Firefox but not in Chrome. I checked Firefox again just now to be sure. Maybe you just need to try again. A few minutes ago the Trading Power Adjustment Schedule didn't open in Firefox but just now it did.

I had to allow pop-ups for rci.com. Now it works as well as the Deposit Calculator. The site also looks a lot better.

                    • Well, this thread has managed to survive two enhancements.

In it we can see that the total number of available exchanges dropped from 170,000-ish to 155,000 max during 5/30/09.

Now, with disclosure, we all should be seeing the same number of max available exchanges.

This morning for me that number is 143,979. Anyone see more?

My big number for straight exchanges, the one that was 170,000 pre-5/30/09, this morning is 129,804.

Yes, there are some exchanges that we use to get with single deposits that we no longer can.

Do you think RCI is really losing that amount of business (deposits)?

                        Today enhanced: 265

                          • I am showing 145,375 whether I do all or only my best trader (56TP). I wonder if the difference is in VEP?

                            • Is that for:

                              Show all available RCI vacations

                              ???

                              Right now I'm seeing: [147,495]

Shouldn't we all be seeing the same?

FWIW, not all of my individual deposits see that number:

                              [125,152]
                              [139,382]
                              [147,495]

but that is because the first two do not include all of the next 24 months.

                              • Yes, "show all". Right now it is 145,104 for all my weeks that have availability thru 12/2012 (not all have the same TP value). I know there are some weeks I will not see due to VEP and there are also a few weeks, like Orlando DVC, that I cannot see due to geographic exclusion. You see about 2300 more weeks than I do. I have to guess the VEP is the factor, but it is only a guess.
