Sorry if this was already discussed but I couldn't find it here.

If I want to go a specific resort during a specific time frame and nothing seems to be available there when I do the search - on a points account - how would I go about doing it and does it cost to run the search? I have an elert out and I notice I never received anything except change your dates or expand your region from over 4 searches I've done.

    TIA, Silvia

You can't do an ongoing search for a standard reservation. If it wasn't there at exactly 10 months from your desired check-in date, it may not ever be available. You just have to check every day. I did get lucky once and find something that was either cancelled by the person who originally reserved it or they bought what I wanted and deposited it in points after the 10 month mark.

You can do an ongoing search in weeks with your points account. You have to call to implement it which means it will cost $189 instead of the $164 that weeks owners pay when they start a search online.

Thanks Philsfan, I was afraid of that I saw Wyndham Shearwater for September and had to wait to get it since my friend needed to talk to her boss about taking those days. It dispappeared and then came back the next day, my friend still wasn't able to get an answer from her boss so I couldn't book it and I lost it. I couldn't hold it either because I would have done that until she was able to say book it. Someone sugested I ask about the ongoing search, which I thought points doesn't have, but wasn't so sure if we could do weeks search with my points account.

      Thanks, Silvia.
