Here is the RCI response after I forwarded the withdrawal email to feedback:

According to our records, the deposit was removed from the system to only be corrected. We find the first deposit referenced week #26 beginning July 1, 2010; however, after recently receiving the resort's calendar for 2010, this check-in date is accurate of week #27 travel. Therefore, the activity was merely administrative and should not have resulted in written confirmation as it could be confusing and/or concerning with the window of opportunity remaining the same. We apologize for any concern which may have been created.
