With RCI, this surprises you how?

It disheartens me. For now I am looking from Points into weeks as I at least KNOW the weeks that come up exist.

The phantoms are in weeks also. I just found an exchange on the weeks side that I really want. However, I am getting the same message as you.

The phantoms I was seeing was looking in weeks for weeks. I saw 2 or 3 I really would have liked.

When I look from points to weeks the weeks are real. Or are you saying these also have phantom issues?

I really think that RCI is just playing games with weeks owners or, those that want to see that RCI is "offering" good exchanges for weeks without actually attempting to complete the exchange. RCI appears to be one of the most underhanded companies I've seen. Phantom weeks in the weeks exchange pool just doesn't surprise me and, it's just one more reason that I've cancelled my weeks account with RCI. Thank goodness we bought that week strictly to use. I just hope that things never change to a point where we can't use the unit for personal use.

My strong suspicion is that phantoms are a result of RCI's "fix" to the web site performance problems. Rather than keep the "front end" and "back end" perfectly in sync, the front end of the Weeks search tool is always a little bit out of date with the "true" inventory maintained on whatever dusty old mainframe they've been running the real system on. This partly solved the performance problems they were having in early June, but means that Weeks will never be exactly 100% correct ever again until they try another major "enhancement."

I tend to agree with Brian. I do seem to see more of these on Sundays than any other day though. My biggest issue with the system being out of synch is wanting to know for how much time.

I first saw these at 06:39EDT. They are still there over 2 hours later and they are still phantoms. I would have gladly taken either one of them.

They do exist on the points side but not anywhere to the same extent as on the weeks side. It's usually within a few minutes (5 at the most) where this happens and then it disappears.

Everything on the RCI exchange opportunity board will just have to be taken with a grain of salt these days I guess. It takes forever as it is to do them and I'd never plow thru if I had to verify everything.

This happen to me also with a unit in New Orleans. I called RCI and they could book it for me but at 10,000 more points than what was listed on the website. They finally let me speak to Web Support and they were able to get it straight. They also wanted to charge $189 for the exchange but I explained that the web site did not work so they charged me $169. It did take 1/2 hour to finally get it straight.
