    Original Message Follows: ------------------------

Here is a question I have asked several times over the years, gotten answers on how to do it, then found out it did not work.

Hopefully you now have a way to do it.

We have a credit in our account from RCI Elite Rewards. I would like to use it to do an exchange, or extend our subscription, online. Existing credits cannot be used for online transactions, and if I call a Guide for an exchange they have to charge the higher exchange fee.

The last time one tried to do it, which took a long time, but in the end I still had to request a refund of the $25 difference that he had tried to take care of. That was only after a few back and forths with feedback.

Has RCI come up with a way for members to use existing credits for online transactions?

There is no way to apply your Elilte Reward dollars "online" yet. However, if it were me, I would speak with our technical staff to see what they say is the best/easiest way to obtain that credit. They can be reached at 1/800-338-7777, option 1.

    Hope this helps.

I did that as you instructed and was told the same as you . . . no way to do that unless RCI changes the way they do online transactions.

That was by Mike. When I asked his employee status, he said Vacation Counselor, so option 1 did not get me technical support.

    He transferred me to them.

I spoke to Marlon in technical support. By the tone of his response, I could tell that he has dealt with this question before. His answer was that you have to call a Guide to use existing credits and in the case of an exchange, that costs you $25 of your credit because of the higher exchange fee doing it that way.

RCI does not appear to be working on anything to resolve that, say by allowing members to use existing credits for an online transaction.

Is that the way you see it?

Here's today's version, something they've said before, but that did not work:

I just spoke with the management of Tech Support and gave them a copy of your email.

They told me that we "should" honor the $25 OFF an exchange when you have to call in to use your Elite Rewards money. Therefore next time you call in to confirm an exchange, you should not be charged $189, but $164, then have that $75 (rewards money) deducted from that amount.

I have made a BIG note on your account to explain this to the next agent. Therefore, if any problem, have them refer to the note or contact me, ok?

We hope this helps and apologize for the confusion and inconvenience.
