I learned something new today. RCI sells a 5 year guest certificate for $149. It is good for any number of exchanges and/or EV during that time period as long as it is used by the same guest. So for those of us with adult children who often use our weeks, this is a good alternative to the $59 per use GC. It is also a good alternative to a seperate RCI account for said children.

I have a weeks account and tried adding names and was told I could not - that is how I found out about the 5 yr. GC. Maybe points accounts are different. Do the names have to be on the deeds of the TS? I am getting a new TS and putting my son on the contract along with my husband and myself. Please let us know if you are actually successful doing this.

You have to add them on the Guest Membership. As I recall, when I have pursued this with feedback, you can allow the Guest to search for exchanges also, with your deposits.
I'll check later to see if I saved that on my other computer.
For questions of this nature you can ask Feedback@RCA.com (I changed one letter to prevent email harvesting . . . you know the one). Typically allow 2 days for answers, and don't necessarily rely on them.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

I found this from Feedback concerning not being able to update account information online:
"For security reasons, only members of RCI's staff can update address
information."
& here's the other:

The Guest Pass program is still available. The Partial Guest Pass is
offered in both five and ten-year increments. A five-year Partial Guest
Pass is $149US/$157CD. A ten-year Partial Guest Pass is $249US/ . By
purchasing a Partial Guest Pass, there is no need to charge the
$59US/$52CD Guest Certificate fee every time a confirmation is made for
the guest, and transactions are unlimited. A separate Partial Guest
Pass must be purchased for each guest.
Members who no longer own at an RCI-affiliated resort may continue their
subscriptions to use Extra Vacations and Last Call. However, they must
have been a qualifying member who did own at an affiliated resort
previously, and their membership must have remained active.
& another one to further clarify it:
"In an attempt to further increase our ability to provide innovative
customer service, RCI is now offering members a Partial Guest Pass. The
Partial Guest Pass allows guests access to Extra Vacations as needed,
without requiring member authorization each time. Guests may also have
access to members' one-for-one exchanges, but only after the member
authorizes the use of a specific deposit. Specifically, members must
still call to authorize a guest to use a deposited week.
The Partial Guest Pass is offered in both five and ten-year increments.
A five-year Partial Guest Pass is $149 USD/$157 CD. A ten-year Partial
Guest Pass is $249 USD/$263 CD. By purchasing a Partial Guest Pass,
there is no need to charge the $59 US/$52 CD Guest Certificate fee every
time a confirmation is made for the guest, and transactions are
unlimited. A separate Partial Guest Pass must be purchased for each
guest. Please note that there are no spousal privileges. Partial Guest
Passes may be removed (cancelled) by the member only, but this program
does not offer refunds."RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

A little background, I just recently bought into Wyndham. Both my adult children are on the deed. I am going to join RCI. As I understand this, I am the only one who can use RCI. So if either of my children book a trip, they will have to be guest and have a guest certificate. If I want to add them to the 5/10 year plan, I will have to add each one separately, right? Thus 149/249 for each name I add. This RCI/ Wyndham thing is all new to me. We own DVC and they are so much easier to deal with. We are all on that deed and anyone one of us can use the points at no additional charge. There is also no such thing as guest certificates, I can book for anyone I want to.

For a newbie you understand it well.
In real life, not the RCI world, some resorts do not require Guest Certificates, especially for family members. They realize it is just a way for RCI to make more $$$. Within the last 10 years RCI has decided to charge for things they used to do for free. Well, not free since everyone pays to be a subscriber.
Many resorts have websites and respond to email. You can check with resorts before you confirm an exchange.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

All I had to do was Fax a letter of request to Customer Service. The letter had to be signed by both of us. If I want to remove my daughter's name I have to send another letter signed by both of us. They did remove her name a few months ago. I compained loudly and they added it back claiming it was a computer update error. The guide could see her name and I couldn't but thankfully it was straightened out. I added her name about three years ago after reading about this option in TUGs threads.

Can the five names you added with your permission make exchanges directly with RCI after advising RCI which of your deposits these individuals could use?
Can the five names you added at any time without your permission book LAST CALL and EXTRA VACATIONS?

From the Terms and Conditions for Weeks:
No more than two co-owners of a single Vacation Ownership may apply for a single RCI Weeks Subscribing Membership. If a Vacation Ownership is owned by more than two persons, each person must apply for separate RCI Weeks Subscribing Memberships.
