Points Reservation Deposits

I have a couple questions

1. How do I delete or remove a an ownership?

2. What is the method for depositing a point based membership? When I try and deposit the point based membership on file, it never asks what resort, confirmation number, or even dates I wish to use? I would like to deposit a week at BlueGreen's Mountain Run at Boyne for 2012 the week of March 10 to 17 (Canada's March Break) as I would like to get two weeks in the Carribean for 2014.

Gandalf, just make sure BG has given you a "triangulated week" for deposit. " regular" point resies can not be deposited.

So, before responding I went back and did a search for "triangulated" and only came of with 4 threads (one of which you had responded to me what these were).

As I understand it this may mean that I can not deposit my week then if there are no deeded weeks with the same check-in dates? Does it have to be one of the deeds I have? Or just any property in BG's inventory that they will give to the exchange company? I do not want to have to rent this out, or have to cancel in order to make the deposit.

SFX seems to make it much easier, you just book your reservation and give them the reservation number. They contact the resort, verify the reservation and there you go. At least that is how it was with the SVC week I gave them. Not sure if it would be the same for BG.

I realize it is labour day weekend, but if DAE cares to respond to let us know if there is a simpler way? Perhaps a procedure change is in order to simply things for your customers.

No response from DAE on how I can deposit this, withouth having to change my reservation with BlueGreen?

My check-in dates are Saturday to Saturday and I was told the check-in dates for this resort are Friday to Friday.

When u r thinking about using a point resie for a deposit, you MUST ask the BG rep for his kind of resie. I just reserved my free white week and the unit size I wanted only has deeded time on Friday so that is what I took.

DAE might answer - sure we can take that week - but when they go to confirm with BG it will be denied.

I have deposited weeks with II and with SFX without difficulty but I knew to ask for this type of reservation. Th BG rep might say no, u can not give this to RCI which you know Already so I start my conversation by saying I want to deposit with XYZ and need a triangulated resie.

That is the issue, and not sure if it is a BG thing or the exchange company. Although, based on what you said it appears to be BG related. Do all reps know what a triangulated reservaton is?

When I called BG, basically what they said was that I would have to cancel my existing reservation, and then make a new one. I'll be damned if I am going to give them another $50.

Additionally, it does not solve the other issue I have directly with DAE which is how do I do it using their online system or will I need to call?

Overall the issue is simplicity. When I deposited my SVC points based reservation with SFX there was no issue. I simply gave them the reservation number, they called and the deposit was made. Perhaps I was lucky because my reservation tied in with an underlying deeded week?

Would this also mean that if I were depositing a BG points based reservation to SFX it might be denied (maybe better posted in the Ask SFX forum).

All we need to take this deposit is to have a signed Deposit Authority (we need you to call in for this - ask for Ernie, he has been briefed on your questions.

We do indeed finalize the transaction with BlueGreen from there on.

We react to Bluegreen's requests for additional information and in some cases ask the member to call Bluegreen and let them know with whom you are depositing and if they have any special requirements (such as acquiring a "triangulated" week).

We have not had any significant issues clearing these deposits at all.

Hello, and thanks for the response as this is great information for all points owners making deposits that having a specific type of week is not required. This DEFINATELY makes the process alot simpler.

I did speak with Scott ealier today, as I thought it may be simpler so my aplogies to Ernie for not calling him. I will notify him on Monday to let him know this deposit is already being handled.

Update to deposit / rules

Just an FYI, that this deposit was accepted by BlueGreen and shows as Exch* under type in my reservation history.

DAE could you advise if this works for other points based memberships or only BlueGreen. Perhaps you could provide a list of which points based companies you can take deposits for?

I ask because the consideration was to book a Hawaii week with SVC for deposit on the current 2 x 1 promotion, however I was informed that "II is the exclusive exchange provider" and giving a booked week to another company would not be allowed.
