  • NZ North Island Availability

I am a new member of this forum thanks to a reference by Carolinian on the TUG site.

I have been working with Donita's DAE looking for North Island 2007 exchanges. On-Line I see good availability in 2006, but only Ika Nui at Taupo in 2007.
I started my request for April-May period in 2007, but I am becoming more interested in August-September 2007 period. I want three weeks at different resorts in order to see more of the Island.

Will I have a good chance of getting three North Island weeks for August-September 2007?? Apparently NZ owners do not deposit weeks very far in advance.

My experience with DAE and NZ is limited, but I was looking for timeshares on the South Island for October and all I was seeing were timeshares on the North island. And the inventory at DAE was pretty good. So my feeling is that if you don't see what you want now, wait a bit and something else should show up.

      Good luck!

        North Island Availability

Thanks for the comments. I feel encouraged, and will keep waiting for 2007 availability to develop. As I said in my post, I do see lots of good exchanges for August/September 2006.

Hello TheDukeofPaducah, thanks for your enquiry. Firslty, if you are now interested in different date/s then the ones you submitted as your request/s for exchange, can I please ask that you give us a ring and change the dates. Please dont leave it till the last minute. For the North Island of New Zealand, I cannot see any problems with getting three different resorts, however keep in mind that it is the NZ ski season in the North and South Island. The South Island is always difficult to get as the resorts only have very few units. If you have any further queries, please don't hesitate to ask.
          Kindest regards...Marc

            North Island Exchange

Thanks to Marc for his suggestions. Yes, I do intend to call soon and get a new batch of request dates logged in at DAE. I Believe that going in NZ late winter (next year) will let me escape some of the oppressive late summer heat here in Western Kentucky.

The DudeofPaducah, thanks for your reply. I'm sure NZ will be a welcomed relief from the heat. NZ is so beautiful, you'll enjoy every minute of your time there. Many thanks for your support and look forward to hearing from you.
              Kindest regards...Marc

                New Zealand TS

We were in NZ last Nov/Dec. We did get a TS in Queenstown and Lake Taupo. Both were booked in the last 3-4 months before we left in mid Oct when we went to Fuji and Australia. We were in Turner Townhouses and Lakeside Villas. Both were from DAE and both were great TS. Most of the other TS in NZ were not on our plan. We may do Pahia in a few years.

You would enjoy Paihia very much. Well worth the exchange.
