    Mark,

On the DAE web site, it states:

"By electing to accept CPO at the time of confirming your exchange, should you need to cancel your exchange holiday, your banked week will be saved for you to use at a later date (up to the original expiry date of your Credit). There will be 'no charge' for the replacement exchange. You have the option of accepting CPO and paying the additional CPO fee on the replacement exchange reservation. No monetary refunds are allowed on cancellations. Replacement exchange must be taken up within 24 months of the cancellation date."

If I cancelled my exchange week on 07/01/2006, does my week still expire at the original date? Would you please clarify "Replacement exchange must be taken up within 24 months of the cancellation date"? If my week original expiry date is 1/1/2007, can I use the week up to 24 months of the cancellation date (07/01/2008)?

    Thanks!

G'day Rentaweek, in answer to your question...In return for banking a week with us, we give you a credit, valid for 3 years. Scenario: You use your credit and book a holiday. You take the CPO, and need to cancel your holiday. By having taken up CPO, your credit is put back in the system and reverts back to the original expiry date. You've paid an exchange fee for booking you holiday. This means next time you book a holiday, we will use your original credit but will not charge you an exchange fee..in other words we owe you a week because you chose to protect your exchange by taking up CPO. The week we owe you also has an expiry date, which is 24 months from the date you cancelled your holiday. If you haven't taken up the week we owe you within 24 months, then we will ask you to pay another exchange fee.
Hope I've answered your question, if not , please dont hesitate to come back to me....Marc

      Hi Mark,

Thank you for the explanation. I am still not very clear when the week will expire after it is cancelled.

      Using this example:

If I bought CPO, and cancelled my week on July 1, 2006. The original expiration date is Jan 1, 2007. When will my credit expire after the week is cancelled? Would I need to confirm another exchange before the original expiation date (Jan 1 2007)? Or I still do not need to pay another exchange fee if I confirm another exchange after the original expiation date (Jan 1 2007), as long as I use the week before July 1, 2008.

      Thank you for the Clarification!

Thanks for the reply. This is how it works...

You bank a week today July 13, 2006 - you receive a 3 year credit valid till July 13,2009. You use this credit to book a holiday.

You happen to cancel the holiday on July 13, 2008 and you took CPO. We give you back the original credit with its original expiry date of July 13, 2009.

Now the exchange fee you paid goes into credit and we give you a free exchange week which must be taken within 24 months from the date you cancelled your holiday. If you haven't taken up the free exchange within 24 months, you will need to pay another exchange fee. If you left your credit that has the expiry date of July 13, 2009 expire, you then would need to bank another week.

I hope this is clearer..if not , please don't hesitate to come back to me.

        Kindest regards...Marc
