  • What to book for deposit in htse?

I have read your sticky and your web site and need more info, please.
I have access to FF points and BG points plus a couple of fixed weeks.
I am planning a trip to Hawaii for May 2009 and prefer at least 1 bedroom on Kauai plus a second week back to back on Maui

    1. Do deposits need to be RCI or II red?
    2. Do Hawaii deposits "pull" more?
    3. I can only book 11 months out so...suggestions on what to book now?
    4. Can I book studio and still get 1 bedroom or 1 for 2?
    5. When you find a match, do you offer it by phone or email... or just book it like II?
    6. When you offer, and I accept, do I have 24s to cancel if I can't work out air etc?
    7. What is your cancellation policy?
    8. Should I request back to back weeks and wait until both are available or book 1 week and then hunt for the other limited to the week before and after?

    Thanks
    Jerry

    Hi Jerry,
I'm not an HTSE employee but I can answer some of your questions.
    2) No, all inventory is available for any deposit
    4) Yes, however, there is an upgrade fee.
    5) Phone, in my experience.

I am sure Sonya will be along with the rest of the answers soon.

Aloha Jerry!! we go by what RCI and II consider RED. I know that sometimes they conflict with each other but as long as one is RED we will accept the week. When you are searching we don't look at what you have deposited we look at the request date. We go in order by the date you requested the exchange. If you deposit a studio there will be an upgrade charge for a 1 or 2bdrm ($175 st to 1bdrm and $275 st to 2bdrm)

When you start the search you can tell us to just go ahead and confirm the exchange or call/email you first. We can hold weeks for 24 hours so you have time to check airfare, etc. Once you confirm you can cancel and get your exchange fee back within the first 24 hours after that you will lose the exchange fee but your week goes back into the bank. Once you know what you are looking for you should start the search for both weeks. If one week comes in we can always adjust the search and work around it for the 2nd week.

Hope this helps!! Any other questions please let me know...

      Mahalo, Sonya

        bonus week? search first?

In my notes from reading and asking questions, I see a reference to bonus weeks... How do I get and use one?

I also see a note that says you can search first? So if I join and do not deposit yet, you can start a search, and if you find what I want, then deposit a week...is that right?

        Thanks
        Jerry

HI, I am not a HTSE employee

But I can answer your 1st question.

Bonus weeks are issue for Hawaiian weeks deposited prior to September 30 of each year for the following years use. They cost $189 to redeem, and can be used up to 90 days prior to start date of week.

They can't be used to search, only to take what is available in inventory.

I am unfamiliar with any search first option, so maybe Sonya will need to answer that portion of your questions.

          fwiw,

          Greg

Does htse use "season" for trading power? If I deposit a winter/summer one-bedroom Hawaii week, can I exchange it for a 2-bedroom Canada (Banff) Sept week without paying for the upgrade fee?

When does the bonus week certificate expire after it issued to me?
