  • What deposits will Platinum Interchange accept?

    I receibed my a...WAY list and it has some good weeks on it, thanks!

    Now I'm wondering what weeks Platinum takes in exchange. I read most of the threads here and searched the Platinum site, but couldn't find this information.

    Will Platinum accept any timeshare weeks, or only ones in certain time periods or locations? Does Platinum accept studios? Is there a minimum quality level required, or are all timeshare resorts considered "good enough"?

    Can you tell us what the fees are for upgrading to a larger unit/ higher season?

    How far in advance must weeks be deposited in order for Platinum to accept them? Does depositing a week early give it higher priority when it comes to exchange requests?

    Does Platinum use trading power to decide which requests get filled first, or are all weeks considered equal (or perhaps all red weeks are considered equal?)

    In addition to answering here, I think it would be very helpful to prospective exchangers to post this information on the Platinum site.

    Platinum Interchange Inventory

    Yes, there is a minimum quality level accepted as we take pride in the quality of resorts we work with. Our goal is for every timeshare owner to have a perfect vacation, so we take the quality of resorts seriously. You asked some good questions regarding time periods, locations, etc. for which it depends upon the resort you are wanting to deposit. Our fees for upgrades are listed on the platinuminterchange.com website (Exchange Info page) as well as rules regarding deposit time. For instance, we have what's called "Request First, Deposit Last" whereby you don't relinquish your week or pay anything until we fulfill your exchange request. If you opt to deposit your week first, you have 24 months (previously 18 months, but 24 months is a new policy effective June 1st) from the start date of your banked week to withdraw an exchange.
    You can also view the FAQS page or click on the Terms and Conditions link at the very bottom of each page to read in detail. We also have one of the lowest exchange fees in the industry and charge no membership fees and no annual dues. Since 1979, we have charged no membership fees and no annual dues.
    To answer any more specific questions you may have, please call our Reservations Manager, Sandra, at 1-800-854-2324 to address your questions in further detail.
    In addition, we have an Exchange and Rental Guide which can be mailed to you which further details upgrade fees, depositing week time, etc. Also, our new Resort Directory will be arriving in June which further details such things as deposit time, upgrades, etc.
