  • Attn: (Mark?) SFX Potential member - please help

    Hello-
I am interested in joining SFX and depositing a 2011 summer week, Marriott Manor Club at Ford's Colony. (My TS ownership).
Currently, we only vacation travel once or twice a yr., although I have family members in San Diego, CA.

I see from SFX website that this deposit would qualify as "Prime or High Demand" and a Bonus Week would be offered, although at $599.

Please let me know the following:
    1) Probability for a Marriott Newport Coast (NCV) exchange or other comparable quality SoCal resort in the San Diego to Newport beach area. Travel anticipated by Fall 2011 or so.
    2) The Bonus Week certificate expiration date, how long before it is useless?
    3) Any other incentives to join SFX as a new member.

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Jaym - thank you for your post.

    1) Extremely high probability.

    2) You had mentioned depositing a Summer week. Let's say its a July 2011 deposit. If this week is deposited during 2010, you will have from the day we receive your deposit and up to the end of December 2011 in which to redeem it for your vacation.

So if for example we received this deposit today, you would have from today through Dec 2011 in which to redeem it for your vacation... about 21 months.

Another example... if we receive your 2011 deposit in July 2010... you will have from July 2010 through the end of Dec. 2011 in which to redeem the week for your vacation. About 18 months.

Click for: Current Incentives for New Members...

If you have any further questions, we will be delighted to respond.

    Hope this helps....

    Thanks,

      Mark-
Thank you for the prompt response. I have reviewed some of the TSFMs previous posts so I'm learning a bit about SFX but hoping to make the right decision with my 2011 week. I appreciate your patience and further assistance.

So, we plan to travel to VA this year and will deposit our 2011 usage MMC week (Platinum), which I will reserve this July.
If I deposit, as required for SFX Gold members, I want the best chance to obtain a fall 2011 (Sept.?) week at either Marriott's NCV or simialr quality. As I mentioned the SoCal trip is our focus for 2011 travel, to visit family.

From your expertise, my deposit of MMC Platinum, summer 2011 interval, which is 2 bedrm., would be a strong trader for NCV (also standard 2 BR villas)?
I would have a very high probability of obtaining similar quality exchange for desired resort/timeframe/etc. with my Marriott week?
I do understand the benefits of Platinum members but starting slow for now. To be honest, I'm on the fence about renewal with II right now so I am shopping my week around a bit. Thanks.

Jaym - thank you for your follow up...

Although an exchange company cannot guarantee future space, I can assure you the possibilities for a S. California Coastal week for Sept-Oct 2011 at a high quality resort are "very high".

It is absolutely fine to stick with Gold Membership. It's important for you to have a level of comfort that works for you.

If you have any further questions, we will be delighted to respond.

        Thanks,
