Mayan Palace & Royal Islander

Hi Mark,

I am asking about an exchange into the Royal Islander. I put in the request about a month ago, for August 19 to 26, 2007. I was contacted for a Mayan Palace unit, but since we are traveling with other families, we like to stay at the same place and they have already got their Royal Islander. My question is, will an exchange into Royal Islander be a) very possible, b) somewhat possible, or c) not likely. Thanks.. I know it is early, but I am a Type A person... sorry.

Betty - Thank you for your post. Even if we knew it was extremely probable, we are are not allowed to say so. We do not want to give anyone a high expecation then let them down. It's always better to Under-promise and Over-deliver. We will go with "b) somewhat possible".

Betty, I have stayed at the Royal Mayan and the Royal Caribbean - they are all one big property with the Royal Islander at the 'end' - I don't know if you meant to say Mayan Palace because that is not in Cancun but Riviera Maya....But if SFX offered me the RM or RC, I would accept it (honestly, I like the Royal Caribbean views and pools the best of the 3!)

Hi Grayfal, I was offer the Mayan Palace in Riviera Maya, but turned it down because it was too far from the Royals. SFX told me that they will keep looking, but I was just wondering if they do any exchanges there (Royals) at all or if they only deal with the Mayan Palace. Thanks

For what it is worth, I had an exchange through SFX into the Royal Mayan last fall before Wilma hit. I also had a week at the Grand Mayan Riviera, also through SFX the week before we stayed at the Royal Mayan. I must say that it was quite a let down going to the Royal Mayan after spending a week at the Grand Mayan.
